
The Gas Power Technical Compliance organization (GPTC) provides technical guidance, leadership and tactical directions to drive compliance with Technical Regulations & Standards (TRS) for products, projects & services for HD and Aero businesses. GPTC provides coverage in TRS expertise and applicability throughout the entire lifecycle of Power Generation equipment including New Product Introduction (NPI), Inquiry to Order (ITO), Order to Remittance (OTR).
GPTC is seeking a Lead Engineer for driving compliance with TRS requirements for Heavy Duty & Aero Derivative Gas Power Projects execution in EMEA region, with special focus on Germany.
The Engineer will effectively collaborate internally with several functions within Gas Power & externally with customers, authorities, and authorized agencies in a multi-cultural & multi-functional environment to ensure technical compliance of products & services offered
Roles and Responsibilities
Drive project regulatory compliance for all technologies part of Power Plants (GT, GEN, ST, BOP, HRSG, Controls) and for all TRS categories (Environmental compliance, Pressure equipment compliance, Explosive atmospheres compliance, machinery safety compliance, etc.) for Gas Power Heavy-Duty and Aero-Derivative Units.
Flow down regulatory requirements to engineering, sourcing and other functions as required.
Collect contractual Codes & Standards requirements and build a compliance strategy plan.
Conduct regulatory compliance assessments and manages project technical compliance plans to meet the requirements by reviewing and understanding the applicable Regulations and referenced Standards
Partner with Manufacturing, Design & field teams to successfully resolve regulatory compliance issues
Assist equipment inspections & audits in manufacturing as well as customer sites as needed for codes & standards compliance requirements
Interact with outside engineering firms, certification and inspection agencies, governmental agencies, authorities to provide product compliance with applicable regional or national Technical Regulations to gain the needed product certification or registration.
Maintain awareness of the latest technical regulations developments.
Coordinate a team of compliance project engineers
Serve as an approver for TRS information packages or technical files for its eventual submission to authorities
Manage project schedule and cost of TRS compliance for the scope of work
Lead the solution of technical problems related to compliance of equipment to technical regulations
Monitor and effectively communicate project status, business issues and potential non-compliance risks for the project
Participate as a presenter in technical and project reviews
Communicate results/actions to the relevant engineering and project teams
Act independently in achieving project TRS compliance
Has in-depth knowledge of best practices and interfaces with others; has working knowledge of competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market
Be proactive towards business initiatives such as Quality, PLM multi-generation roll out, Productivity (Lean), Product Cost Out (PCO) and continuous improvement
Work within the guidelines of applicable internal Policies and Procedures, Engineering Standards
Promote & Prioritize “Safety” culture as per GE Vernova Spirit & Letter Policies
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or science from an accredited college or university (this is a Must for Hungary) or equivalent experience (Electrical & Electronics, Mechanical or Computer Science & Electrical Engineer preferred)
Demonstrated expertise in the technical regulatory space (e.g. ISO12100, IEC61508/11, EU PED, ATEX, , Electrical Safety, EMC, Machinery directive, Building Code etc.) either certified by an external entity or by experience in a technology or set of industrial products
Demonstrated experience of executing projects from the TRS, Engineering or Project Management perspective
Demonstrated ability in managing high impact or complex regulatory compliance projects across functions
Demonstrated experience in successfully interacting with Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs)
Prior experience in working with regulatory compliance agencies like TUV, UL, Intertek or similar
Knowledge in Energy Industry
Effective written and oral communication skills in English
Fluent English language
Demonstrated interpersonal and leadership experience
High level of Integrity .
