The Royal Caribbean Group’s Data Enterprise team has an exciting career opportunity for a full time Lead Engineer, MDM reporting to the Director, Enterprise MDM & Quality

The position is onsite and based in Miramar, Florida

The Lead Engineer, MDM, is responsible for architecting, configuring, and optimizing Informatica SAS MDM solutions to support Royal Caribbean Group’s enterprise data strategy. This role partners closely with technology leaders and cross-functional teams to deliver robust master data management solutions, ensuring data quality, governance, and integration across the organization. The Lead Engineer provides technical leadership, mentors developers, and drives best practices in MDM implementation and data management.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Configures and customizes Informatica SAS MDM to implement the Party Model, defining entity types, relationships, business rules, match and merge strategies, and user interfaces.
  • Partners with IT, EDO, AI, and business stakeholders to design data models and deliver scalable MDM solutions.
  • Integrates data from various source systems into Informatica’s SAS MDM platform through IDMC, performing data profiling, cleansing, and transformation to ensure data quality and integrity.
  • Implements match and merge rules to consolidate duplicate records, enabling a single, accurate view of each entity.
  • Configures address, email, and phone verification engines to enhance data accuracy.
  • Defines and implements data quality rules and workflows within the SAS MDM system to monitor, measure, and improve data quality.
  • Ensures adherence to data governance principles and data security best practices during MDM implementation and ongoing management.
  • Identifies and resolves performance bottlenecks, optimizing data loading, matching, and retrieval processes.
  • Collaborates with data architects, analysts, and business users to understand requirements and deliver MDM solutions that meet business needs.
  • Conducts unit and integration testing to validate MDM configurations and ensure data accuracy.
  • Maintains comprehensive technical documentation, including design specifications, configuration guides, and troubleshooting manuals.
  • Develops UNIX shell scripts and automates Informatica job scheduling, repository backup, and file transfers using SQL, PL/SQL, and SQL*Loader.
  • Presents technical solutions to stakeholders, contributes to CAR documentation, and supports team development.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or a related technical discipline required.
  • Informatica MDM certification preferred.
  • Minimum 6 years of MDM development experience with a focus on Informatica MDM and Party Model implementation.
  • Hands-on experience implementing Informatica’s SAS MDM application.
  • Experience with data modeling, data integration, and data quality management in an MDM environment.
  • Experience with travel and hospitality industry is a plus.
  • In-depth knowledge of Informatica SAS MDM tools, including IDMC, and their functionalities for party entities.
  • Proficiency in data profiling, cleansing, and transformation processes.
  • Strong understanding of data governance, data security, and data quality management practices.
  • Experience with UNIX shell scripting, SQL, PL/SQL, SQL*Loader, SFTP/SSH file transfer, and automation of Informatica job scheduling.
  • Knowledge of Data Warehouses/Lakehouse architectures, Master Data Management, Data Integration, and Data Warehouse architecture.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban).
  • Demonstrated leadership skills to guide and mentor a team of developers.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to present technical concepts to stakeholders and contribute to documentation and team development.
  • Proactive, adaptable, and able to align activities to meet organizational goals.
