About Position
Responsible of Hydro Generator Auxiliaries Systems design on a given project. Execute process design engineering activities, perform calculation to size systems and associated equipment. Responsible to specify the components and main equipment of these systems, and ensure the technical follow-up of these equipment, making sure that there are delivered with highest level of quality, on-time and with full compliance to laws and directives. Collaborate and extend support to cross functional team for smooth interface and technical management.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Understand, define the scope plan aligned with project contract specification and lead execution using technical guidelines, design reviews and taking into account the feedback from experiences and learnings.

  • Make contract analysis, project planning, identify risk & opportunities and conceptual design & layout in project. Prepare technical queries, contract deviation request, assist in responses to client queries.

  • Perform Basic Design, calculations, create P&ID and procurement specifications for Generator Auxiliary Systems (Heat exchangers, thrust bearing oil injection, Oil mist exhaust, Braking and Jacking system, Mist & dust extraction system, Firefighting system and their piping’s layout)

  • Organize design review meeting at BD and DD stage.

  • Responsible for the timely releases of the engg. documents for assembly & manufacturing and material lists related to auxiliary systems.

  • Lead the interface management topics with other engg. cross-functions.

  • Manage and execute work-packages with Product definition team.

  • Contribute to lesson learned records in the appropriate tools to improve the equipment specifications management.

  • Manage non-conformity reports, supplier deviation requests of Aux. system.

  • Be involved in root cause analysis or PSR (8D, 5 Why’s, etc…) when a problem statement is raised inside engineering (for instance for analysis of CoPQ),

  • Apply the ideas and concepts of reliability, quality, safety and cost.

Accountabilities

  • Execute with required Quality, within budget and specified lead times.

  • On time delivery, Quality, Cost (components, engg hours)

Educational Requirements :

  • B. E. (Mechanical) or Higher

  • At least 6 years of design experience in Auxiliary systems for Hydro Generator and Turbine with total desired experience of more than 9 years.

  • Basic knowledge in following engineering disciplines: layout & arrangement, mechanical & electrical design, piping design, P&ID diagram, instrumentation, and control;

  • Detailed knowledge of Hydro power plant operation;

  • Good knowledge of Hydro Generator and Turbine Products and their design standards;

  • Software familiarity: CAD tools - AUTOCAD and UG NX, MS Office, PLM (CORELLA);

  • Strong technical and scientific know-how and willingness to continuously extend and develop it;

  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English
