The Lead Engineer, Electrical strengthens the reliability, integrity, and performance of electrical assets across MWSPC facilities. The role drives reliability-centered maintenance strategies that improve equipment availability, reduce risk, and maximize asset value.

The role delivers sustainable improvements in asset performance through proactive reliability management, failure elimination, and risk-based decision-making. By combining technical expertise with operational priorities, the position supports production stability, cost efficiency, and long-term asset sustainability.

The role serves as the technical authority for electrical reliability, advancing maintenance excellence, asset performance, and compliance with engineering and safety standards.

Electrical Reliability & Asset Performance

• Drives reliability initiatives that improve electrical asset availability and performance.
• Eliminates recurring equipment failures through structured reliability analysis.
• Strengthens asset integrity through effective maintenance and technical assurance practices.
• Monitors asset health and identifies reliability risks before operational impact occurs.
• Improves lifecycle performance of critical electrical systems and equipment.

Maintenance Strategy & Technical Excellence

• Develops and optimizes reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) strategies.
• Leads root cause analysis (RCA) investigations and corrective action programs.
• Evaluates failure trends and implements sustainable reliability improvements.
• Reviews and governs Management of Change (MOC) activities affecting electrical assets.
• Ensures maintenance strategies align with operational requirements and engineering standards.
• Applies predictive and condition-based maintenance practices to improve equipment performance.

Operational Support & Continuous Improvement

• Provides expert guidance for complex electrical issues and equipment failures.
• Supports troubleshooting and resolution of critical operational reliability challenges.
• Drives continuous improvement initiatives that enhance equipment reliability and maintenance productivity.
• Supports commissioning, site acceptance testing, and operational readiness of new electrical assets.
• Identifies opportunities to improve maintenance effectiveness and reduce operational costs.

Governance, Safety & Compliance

• Ensures compliance with electrical standards, reliability procedures, and safety requirements.
• Promotes safe work practices and effective application of engineering controls.
• Monitors reliability performance indicators and drives corrective actions.
• Ensures technical documentation and maintenance records remain accurate and current.
• Supports audit readiness and compliance with regulatory and corporate requirements.

Stakeholder Collaboration & Capability Building

• Builds alignment between E&I Support, Maintenance, Operations, and Engineering teams.
• Provides technical leadership on reliability improvement and asset management initiatives.
• Mentors engineers and technical personnel on reliability methodologies and best practices.
• Facilitates knowledge sharing and adoption of reliability standards across the organization.
• Strengthens cross-functional collaboration to improve plant performance and reliability outcomes.

Budget & Performance Management

• Supports development and management of electrical reliability and maintenance budgets.
• Reviews CAPEX and OPEX requirements to support reliability objectives.
• Evaluates asset investment opportunities and improvement programs.
• Provides performance insights that support maintenance and asset management decisions.
• Ensures investments deliver measurable improvements in reliability and operational performance.

4. Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) certification preferred.
• Professional Engineer (PE) or equivalent professional certification preferred.

5. Experience

• Minimum 8–10 years of experience in electrical maintenance, reliability engineering, or asset management.
• Experience within mining, fertilizer, petrochemical, manufacturing, or heavy industrial operations.
• Experience leading reliability improvement programs and cross-functional technical initiatives.
• Experience conducting root cause investigations and implementing corrective actions.
• Experience with high-voltage systems, motors, transformers, switchgear, protection systems, and power distribution networks.
• Experience applying Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM), Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and predictive maintenance methodologies.
• Experience managing asset integrity and lifecycle performance of electrical equipment.
