What impact you’ll make

As a member of the Direct Air Capture Design Engineering team, you will play a crucial role in the 1,500 tonnes per year CO2 capture and Generation 2 New Product Introduction (NPI) programs. Your responsibilities will encompass the development of innovative product designs, progressing from concept to detailed design and complete product definition. This includes selecting appropriate hardware, collaborating with suppliers for the procurement of vendor-designed components, and integrating these components into a cohesive system that meets or surpasses the product specifications.

What you’ll do

  • Own direct air capture hardware design from conceptual through detailed definition and validation.
  • Create initial design concepts to solve for multi-variable challenges inherent in Direct Air Capture: product cost, energetics, serviceability, and life
  • Interpret product requirements to understand customer needs and incorporate solutions into product design
  • Iterate on design options quickly to find the best solution
  • Design for manufacturability, assembly, installation, and service
  • Analyze and refine the selected design option, collaborating with other team members to create a cohesive and unified product design
  • Validate designs through engineering analysis and real-world scale testing
  • Define design details with full CAD model and BoM, in collaboration with external component suppliers and integrators

What you’ll bring (Basic Qualifications)

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience in power generation, heavy industrial, chemical process, or similar industry
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering in mechanical, chemical, electrical, or engineering technology or equivalent

What will make you stand out

  • CAD expertise with NX (Unigraphics)
  • Prior experience with New Product Introduction for Accessories or similar process equipment (piping, valves, instrumentation, enclosures, etc.)
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, capabilities, and assembly procedures; especially in collaboration with external global vendors
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a highly dynamic environment with constantly changing requirements
  • Demonstrated commitment to lifelong learning and self-directed skill development
  • Experience with drawing and model-based product definition strategies

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $89,300.00 and $148,700.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
