Lead Engineer DevOps File Transfers

You are a talented Managed File Transfer engineer with deep understanding of Managed File Transfer protocols and experienced with the MFT solution of the Axway suite. You have experience with maintaining infrastructure via Azure pipelines and Ansible.

The team

You will join the ING File Transfer Services team, which is responsible for supporting all file transfers surrounding the ING private cloud. The team is diverse in nationalities and age groups.

Roles and responsibilities

You will work on a new solution for the external file transfer service, migrate the consumers and maintain the infrastructure.

  • Infrastructure as Code: Develop and manage infrastructure as code
  • DevOps Integration: Collaborate with DevOps teams to ensure smooth CI/CD pipelines and efficient application deployment.
  • DevSecOps Security: Implement (automate) and maintain robust security measures to protect our platforms from vulnerabilities and cyber threats.
  • Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks and vulnerabilities in platform architecture and work on risk mitigation strategies.
  • Monitoring and Optimization: Continuously monitor platform performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimizations for improved efficiency.
  • Alerting and Incident Response: Set up proactive alerting systems and develop incident response procedures to ensure platform reliability and availability.
  • Documentation: Create comprehensive documentation for platform architecture, configurations, and procedures.
  • Coaching and Knowledge Sharing: Mentor junior team members and share your expertise through coaching and knowledge-sharing sessions.


How to succeed
You have hands-on experience with:

  • File Transfer protocols
  • Managed file transfer tooling, preferably Axway products (CFT/Gateway/Secure Transport/Flow Manager)
  • Continuous integration and delivery using tools such as Azure DevOps, Gitlab
  • Linux OS fundamentals: scripting, services, logs, permissions, etc.
  • Public Key Infrastructure (PKI): certificate chains, trust, TLS, SSH keys, cert renewals, etc.
  • Networking basics: inbound/outbound flows, firewalls, load balancers, ports, etc
  • Automation: Ansible, Azure pipelines
  • Security awareness, hardening
  • Python, Java
  • OS monitoring tools (such as Grafana and Prometheus) as well as dashboard creation
  • You have great problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • You are a strong communicator and like to collaborate with others.
  • You are eager to learn new technologies and ability to pick up things quickly and put them into use.
