We are looking for a Project Engineering Manager to drive the engineering execution of EPC projects with a specific focus on the Close Out phase of these projects.

You will be part of a diverse, international team and ensure the successful delivery of engineering scopes on high-impact energy infrastructure High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) stations.

You will be part of the Product Delivery Group (PDG) and a member of our global Project Engineering Management (PEM) department, working alongside experienced project engineering managers across Europe, US, and Asia.

Based in India, you will report directly to the Close Out PEM team leader, contributing to a dynamic and diverse community of PEMs.

As Project Engineer Manager the role is pivotal in ensuring the seamless transition from Order to Remittance (OTR) phase to project close-out, focusing on quality, delivery and customer satisfaction.

The successful candidate will manage key components of the back end of the project lifecycle, including as-built drawings, punch list items, software releases, warranty claims, anticipate and manage risk, customer complaints (ACTs), non-conformances (NCPs) to name a few.

You will serve as the technical lead for the HVDC Product Delivery Group (PDG) scope, with a strong focus on Valves, Controls, and associated technical systems / components.

  • Ensure safety 1st within everything you and the team do.

  • Oversee the comprehensive finalisation of engineering activities within the Product Delivery Group (PDG) scope on EPC projects.

  • Be the overall technical lead to drive multidisciplinary teams to ensure integrated, consistent deliverables that meet schedule, budget, and technical requirements.

  • Ensure adherence to quality standards and compliance, applying internal processes and industry best practices throughout the close out phase of the projects lifecycle.

  • Address customer complaints (ACTs) and manage non-conformances (NCPs).

  • Oversee the completion and approval of as-built drawings and manage punch list items to completion.

  • Coordinate controls software releases (development, test, site deployment, etc)

  • Manage warranty claims and snag list items as relate to PDG scope.

  • Anticipate and manage risks by maintaining an up-to-date risk register, driving mitigation plans, and enforcing a structured change management process.

  • Facilitate a smooth transition from OTR to project close-out, ensuring all activities are handed over efficiently and effectively.

  • Coordinate system studies (e.g. PSSE and PSCAD).

  • Manage budgets related to the HVDC PDG scope, ensuring cost-effective delivery.

  • Develop and execute a roadmap for project close-out.

  • Act as the technical lead for the HVDC PDG scope, providing guidance and oversight of related activities.

  • Uphold the defined division of responsibilities with the region teams and the PDG.

  • Demonstrate strong Project Engineering Management (PEM) skills, including project governance and planning.

  • Align departmental leads for resource input and manage contract obligations (include variation orders and assessment of liquidated damages where applicable.

  • Ensure effective RAM management and participate in Level-3 support for HVDC, handling high-pressure situations and minimising downtime. Plan and manage site activities, including planned and forced outages.

  • Establish and maintain effective communication with customers, partners, and suppliers to ensure transparency, responsiveness, and trust; represent engineering in project governance by providing clear reporting on progress, issues, KPIs, and contributing to key project reviews and decisions.

  • Support to Engineering project teams ROE according to unit process.

  • As required support / drive continuous improvement efforts within the function.

Desired Profile and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Power Systems, or a related field (Electronics, Mechanical).

  • Advanced and proven experience as a Project Engineering Manager or similar role in EPC environments such as Energy, Transmission, Distribution, Oil & Gas, Power Generation, or related industries.

  • Successful delivery of at least two medium to large size projects.

  • Excellent project management skills with experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders across international and multicultural environments. Resilience being a key requirement.

  • In-depth understanding of engineering project lifecycles, risk management, technical interfaces, and configuration/change control.

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence, align teams, and confidently represent engineering in both internal and customer meetings.

  • Fluency in English, with proficiency in additional languages considered an asset.

  • Willingness to travel occasionally (Europe and internationally) as required for project needs.

  • Experience in aftersales and project close-out is advantageous.

  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to navigate customer-facing roles while maintaining effective communication with regions, service teams, and HVDC PDG.
