Opportunity Snapshot

  • The role will be responsible for leading the design and development of high-quality digital applications within one of four Realms – Sales, Service, Mobile and API, ensuring that the team adheres to best practices and delivers solutions that meet or exceed business and customer expectations. This role will involve working closely with the other digital teams, architecture, support, and environment teams to develop new and existing features, as well as collaborating with the application architects, Engineering Managers and other teams.
  • Lead the development and execution of technical projects from inception through to final production and deployment
  • Lead the design of application solutions for new ideas/initiatives coming into the digital team that you lead for the products the team runs, working with the architecture team and wider business. Conduct system analysis, solution design, and technical design activities with high-quality documentation and realistic work estimates as end-deliverables.
  • Work with the application architects to plan the long-term strategic architecture for the products you lead
  • Design end-to-end solutions and provide feedback on others' solution designs to ensure they meet operational needs
  • Lead and direct technical initiatives for the team’s products
  • Manage a team of developers (1-6), conducting performance reviews and providing guidance to direct reports

What you’ll need to make it possible 

  • Relevant tertiary qualification at degree level
  • At least 1 year of experience managing a team of direct reports, leading projects or programs of work from a technical perspective, or demonstrated experience mentoring other developers within squads
  • At least 5 years of experience building products using some or many of these technologies:
  1. NET web apps and API apps
  1. Microsoft Azure (App Services, AKS, Containers, no-sql/sql database as a services, Redis
  2. Cache, etc)
  3. Sitecore 10+
  4. Next, React, Angular, Vue, other JS frameworks
  • Mobile technologies including Xamarin (not Forms), Kotlin, Swift in an enterprise environment. Testing frameworks and adjacent technologies including Jest, xUnit, Cypress, Swagger, etc
  • CI/CD systems, particularly Azure Dev Ops or Github/Github Actions
  • Application lifecycle/documentation tools including Confluence, Azure DevOps boards, Jira, etc.
  • Proven success in contributing to a team-oriented environment.
  • Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment.
  • Desire to work in a digital systems environment.
  • Experience developing with the Azure cloud platform.
  • Development experience in multi-tier architectures.
  • Demonstrated experience developing for and within Domain Driven Design and Clean Architecture patterns.
  • Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to function as a thought leader as well as an individual contributor.
  • Great analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills to technical and non technical audiences.
  • (Preferred) require a tertiary qualification in an IT discipline, or training through a digital engineering training provider.
