In this role the Lead Engineer will actively work in the areas of design and development of Nacelle structures.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Product design and development considering existing and NPI demonstrated.
  • Create concept level design and finalize the architecture based on product requirements.
  • Finalize the design by performing required key activities, stack-ups, Interfaces design, material, weight, cost assessment, Fire and Lightning requirements.
  • Select suitable standard hardware based on application.
  • Ability to Lead the design activities for sustenance, NPI and value engineering.
  • Resolve production and in-service design issues.
  • Presenting in Design reviews and working with customers.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to the team members as needed to enable career development.
  • Drive design chance from creating change to until design release.
  • Collaborate with other functions, Aerostructures global sites and GETC-I business units.


Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical engineering or Aerospace or Aeronautics.
  • Full time recognized Bachelor of Engineering (4 years) with 4 to 8 years of related work experience in similar roles.
  • Sound knowledge in mechanical engineering fundamentals.
  • Strong decision making and critical thinking.
  • Strong ability to understand customer expectations.

Preferred Skills:

  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in Mechanical structures Design and Development
  • They should have good Catia V5 experience.
  • Good Knowledge in design principles.
  • Should have fair knowledge on material & Fastener selection.
  • Should have good experience in performing multiple Design trade studies.
  • Good knowledge in considering and finalizing Aero smoothness, Fire and Lightening requirements.
  • Strong in GD&T and MBD creation.
  • Good in performing kinematic study.
  • Should have knowledge of Teamcenter (PLM)
  • Good Knowledge of performing stack ups, ICD creation and weight and cost assessment.
  • Good understanding of manufacturing requirements and able to support manufacturing.
  • It will be an added advantage if they have experience on Nacelle product design.
  • Composite design would be a plus.
  • Good understanding of design review requirements and it will be an added advantage if they have presented in PDR & CDR
  • Very good presentation and communications skills.
