Innovative Electric is a locally owned and operated electrical contractor serving homeowners, builders, and construction partners throughout the Destin, Santa Rosa Beach, and 30A communities. We specialize in residential electrical systems for new construction and high-end custom homes.

As the electrical division of Innovative Sight & Sound, our electricians frequently work alongside an experienced team of lighting, home automation, audio/video, security, and technology professionals. This creates opportunities to participate in thoughtfully designed residential projects and to collaborate with multiple trades within a single organization.

We are looking for an experienced Lead Electrician who takes pride in quality work, communicates well, and can help guide projects and team members in the field.

What You’ll Do

As a Lead Electrician, you will be responsible for completing and overseeing residential electrical work from pre-wire through trim-out and final completion. You will work closely with project managers, builders, other trades, and field team members to keep projects moving safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities include:

• Lead electrical installation work on residential new-construction projects
• Coordinate daily field activities and provide direction to electricians and helpers
• Review blueprints, floor plans, specifications, and project markups
• Complete electrical pre-wire, rough-in, trim-out, and final installation
• Install lighting fixtures, switches, receptacles, panels, circuit breakers, and other electrical components
• Connect wiring within electrical circuits and distribution systems while ensuring component compatibility
• Identify jobsite needs, installation conflicts, and potential project delays
• Troubleshoot electrical systems and perform general maintenance or corrective work
• Coordinate effectively with builders, project managers, inspectors, and other trades
• Maintain high standards for workmanship, organization, and jobsite cleanliness
• Ensure work complies with applicable electrical codes, safety procedures, and company standards
• Help train and develop less-experienced members of the electrical team

Requirements

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate is a dependable and experienced residential electrician who can perform high-quality work while also providing steady leadership in the field.

Requirements include:

• Proven professional experience as a residential electrician
• Experience with residential new construction, preferably custom or high-end homes
• Ability to lead fieldwork and provide clear direction to other team members
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, floor plans, specifications, and markups
• Strong working knowledge of electrical systems, safety practices, codes, and jobsite procedures
• Proficiency with electrical testing equipment, power tools, and hand tools, including drills, wire strippers, and voltmeters
• Strong troubleshooting, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to communicate professionally with clients, builders, inspectors, and coworkers
• Good organizational and time-management skills
• Commitment to producing clean, accurate, and complete work
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment background check

Construction experience, general mechanical aptitude, and experience coordinating work with other residential trades are highly valued.
