Job Description

The Lead Engineer supports key design initiatives in the electric power industry, with a focus on the design and integration of instrumentation and control (I&C) systems for Aeroderivative Gas Turbine products and related power plant equipment.
In this role, you will contribute to a diverse portfolio of programs, including New Product Introduction (NPI), Services, ITR, PCO, and CM&U projects. Your work will involve performing technical analyses, developing designs, preparing drawings and specifications, and supporting resolution of customer issues related to system performance and reliability.
This position offers strong opportunities for professional growth—broadening your technical expertise and deepening your knowledge of electrical systems supporting turbine and generator auxiliary systems. You will gain experience across areas such as industrial control panels, fire protection, and vibration monitoring systems.

Essential Functions:
• Support the electrical/system design and integration of Aeroderivative Gas Turbine packages across multiple product lines in power plant applications
• Select and evaluate electrical and electronic hardware for gas turbine generator systems, including analog/digital signals and network architectures
• Contribute to electrical design activities, including AC/DC distribution, cable sizing, raceway systems, earthing and bonding, and integration of instrumentation into industrial control panels
• Support detailed design activities, including system sizing and interfaces (UPS, batteries, instrumentation/control systems, power distribution, and motor controls) used in power plants
• Lead or contribute to design reviews focused on reliability, performance, safety, and compliance
• Participate in problem-solving activities, including Root Cause Analysis (RCA), FMEA, and HAZOP reviews
• Apply knowledge of relevant national and international standards (e.g., IEC, IEEE, NEC, CSA, ATEX) to ensure compliance
• Support project and program execution by developing schedules, tracking milestones, and coordinating tasks with cross-functional teams
• Interpret Single Line Diagrams and develop wiring, loop, and schematic diagrams to enhance overall system performance
• Contribute to improvements in quality, delivery, and cost within the team’s scope
• Apply lean principles such as standard work, product standardization, and continuous improvement (Kaizen)
• Ensure accurate and complete technical documentation in line with engineering procedures
• Collaborate closely with internal teams and external stakeholders—including Production, Global Supply Chain, Product Services, Project Fulfillment, Performance, Supplier Quality, Applications, and Controls Engineering—to deliver project outcomes

Qualifications/Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
• Proven track record in Electrical & Instrumentation system design

• Good command of English (spoken and written), enabling effective communication in an international environment

Desired Characteristics:
• Solid understanding of engineering codes, standards, and safety requirements
• Customer-focused mindset with strong teamwork orientation
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency in NX 3D CAD, AutoCAD, and ePLAN
