Job Purpose: This role is responsible for planning overall efficiency of Balance of Plant (BoP) and Coal Handling Plant (CHP) by planning and monitoring comprehensive maintenance strategies. This role involves managing resources, overseeing quality assurance, and implementing safety and sustainability initiatives while fostering interdepartmental collaboration. This role will also drive Digitalisation efforts and promote a culture of continuous improvement and team engagement within the organization.

Team Lead Electrical BoP/CHP

Maintenance Strategy and Planning:

Plan and monitor electrical maintenance for Bop/CHP, aligning with strategic plans and ensuring operational reliability.

Oversee the testing of electrical equipment for Bop, CHP and associated areas, ensuring high standards of quality and performance.

Proactively plan and ensure execution of maintenance systems to prevent future issues, including SOPs, JSAs, and SMPs.

Monitor the availability and reliability of Bop/CHP equipment, such as Service Transformers, HT and LT Switchgear, HT and LT motors, DC Systems, DG Sets, Lifts in Chimney and Chimney lightings, Stacker Reclaimer Electrical Auxiliaries, Wagon Tripler, etc.

Monitor electrical equipment testing parameters, ensuring compliance with permissible limits and initiating corrective actions as needed.

Perform timely planning, scheduling and execution of shutdowns, annual overhauling, and maintenance projects.

Manage the safe and timely completion of outage and maintenance projects.

Conduct effective troubleshooting and equipment failure analysis to prevent problem recurrence.

Perform RCA, MoC, FMEA, ZFO, and ensure timely technical audits including ISO, IWMS, 5S, etc. to maintain high operational standards.

Plan and oversee the timely completion of PM, CM, and condition monitoring.

Participate in cross-site knowledge sharing, contributing to the overall improvement of maintenance practices.

Project and Resource Management:

Assist in budget preparation and finalization for BoP/CHP maintenance activities.

Monitor spares inventory and the development of vital indigenous spares to ensure cost-effectiveness and readiness.

Oversee the execution of improvement projects for BoP, CHP and associated areas, ensuring timely and successful outcomes.

Supervise business associates performance and bill certification to meet departmental standards.

Manage purchase requests (PRs) as per the delegation of authority (DoA) matrix.

Manage notifications and work orders on SAP, identifying opportunities for system upgrades.

Plan for repairing and refurbishment of associated area equipment.

Business Sustainability:

Ensure adherence to IMS, AWMS, DISHA , ABEM and CHETNA guidelines/safety protocols to ensure personnel and equipment safety.

Ensure adherence to safety and compliance standards through regular technical audits and monitoring.

Actively participate in mock drills and mitigate hazardous processes to maintain a safe working environment.

Comply with legal and statutory requirements, including electrical license renewal and certifications for elevators.

Conduct and participate in cross-site and technical audits, ensuring adherence to ISO, IWMS, 5S, and other quality standards.

Digitalisation and Automation:

Spearhead Digitalisation and automation projects to boost operational efficiency and achieve organizational objectives.

Embrace new technologies and innovative ideas for continuous system improvement.

Regularly review and enhance processes and systems, staying updated and integrating advanced technology into maintenance practices.

People and Team Engagement:

Promote a positive workplace culture and high-performance standards through active employee engagement.

Mentor and train team members, ensuring professional development and cross-skilling.

Efficiently manage manpower, including team members and business associates, for optimal resource allocation.

Encourage knowledge sharing and participation in conclaves and seminars for team and cross-site collaboration.

Educational Qualification:

BE/B.tech in Electrical Engineering or a related field.

Work Experience (Range of years):

13+ years of experience in electrical maintenance within power plants or heavy industries.

Preferred Industry:

Experience in the power generation industry, specifically with BoP/CHP operations.
