Lead Early Childhood Teacher - 2-Year-Old Classroom

The Learning Experience - Columbus Circle, New York, NY

Pay: $20-$24 per hour, based on experience and qualifications

Schedule: Full-Time, Monday-Friday

The Learning Experience - Columbus Circle is hiring a Lead Early Childhood Teacher for our 2-year-old classroom.

This is an exciting age where language takes off, independence begins to emerge, and children learn how to navigate friendships, routines, and big emotions. We're looking for an experienced educator who can create a warm, engaging classroom while confidently leading the daily learning experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead daily classroom routines, activities, and learning experiences
• Implement The Learning Experience's L.E.A.P. Curriculum
• Create engaging experiences through art, sensory play, music, movement, language, early learning, and imaginative play
• Support children's communication, independence, and social-emotional development
• Use positive guidance and developmentally appropriate classroom management
• Support toileting, meals, rest time, and daily care routines
• Observe and document children's development and progress
• Guide and collaborate with Assistant Teachers
• Build strong relationships and communicate regularly with families
• Maintain a safe, organized, and welcoming classroom
• Follow New York licensing and center requirements

Qualifications

Candidates must meet at least one of the following qualification pathways:

• Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related qualifying field
• Associate degree in Early Childhood Education or a related qualifying field
• Current CDA credential
• High school diploma or equivalent plus at least 5 years of qualifying early childhood experience

Additionally:

• Professional early childhood classroom experience required
• Experience with toddlers or 2-year-olds strongly preferred
• Lead Teacher or classroom leadership experience preferred
• Strong understanding of early childhood development and positive guidance
• Must meet applicable New York licensing requirements for the position
