Job Purpose: The purpose of this job is to coordinate coal transportation activities, ensuring adherence to schedules, quality standards, and regulatory requirements. The Lead will manage daily logistics, handle vendor relations, and provide support in financial tracking and documentation processes.

Lead Domestic Coal Transportation

Coal Transportation Coordination:

Schedule and monitor coal transportation activities, ensuring efficient and timely delivery.

Coordinate with vendors to facilitate smooth coal movement and handle any logistics issues that may arise.

Ensure adherence to transportation schedules, adjusting as necessary to meet plant requirements.

Vendor Liaison and Quality Monitoring:

Act as a liaison with vendors, ensuring coal transportation meets quality and safety standards.

Participate in coal quality checks and sampling, reviewing results to ensure they meet plant specifications.

Work with vendors to resolve any quality issues, escalating concerns when necessary.

Documentation and Financial Tracking:

Prepare and verify financial documents related to transportation, ensuring compliance with budgetary requirements.

Track transportation expenses and coordinate with the finance team for timely payments.

Maintain accurate records of transportation costs and associated financial documents.

Process Improvement and Compliance:

Identify areas for improvement in transportation processes and recommend solutions to enhance efficiency.

Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards in all coal transportation activities.

Keep abreast of regulatory changes impacting transportation and recommend process adjustments as needed.

Internal and External Stakeholder Collaboration:

Provide regular updates to internal teams on coal transportation status, costs, and any issues impacting schedules.

Engage with plant operations and other internal stakeholders to support smooth coal delivery.

Coordinate with external partners as needed to facilitate transportation activities.

Team Support and Skill Development:

Support team members in daily transportation activities, offering guidance on best practices.

Encourage continuous learning and improvement within the team by sharing knowledge and skills.

Work closely with other leads to maintain consistency in transportation processes and team support.

Educational Qualification:

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field.

Certification in logistics, transportation, or supply chain management is preferred.

Work Experience (Range of years):

At least 5+ years in transportation, logistics, or supply chain roles, ideally involving bulk commodities along with experience in vendor coordination and process improvement in logistics or transportation.

Preferred Industry:

Energy or power industry, mining, or bulk commodity logistics.
