We have an exciting, new opportunity for a Lead, Digital Data Analytics to join our team!
The Lead, Digital Data Analytics will play a pivotal role in reshaping how Wesfarmers collects, manages and unlocks value from digital data. The role will lead the development of trusted, activation-ready digital data foundations and support the integration of digital event data with customer, product and transactional data in the Shared Data Asset.
By owning the relevant platforms, standards and operating model, the role will create the foundations for more consistent measurement, scalable self-service analytics and emerging AI-enabled capabilities. Working across product, technology, data, privacy and analytics teams, the role offers the opportunity to shape a strategically important capability while improving the quality, usability and commercial value of the digital data the business relies on today.
Key accountabilities
• Own the digital data strategy, operating model and roadmap, balancing immediate OnePass priorities with longer term strategic initiatives.
• Lead the implementation and ongoing management of digital analytics and event-routing tooling.
• Ensure digital event data is accurately collected, governed, documented and activation ready across approved analytical and marketing destinations.
• Define and maintain digital measurement standards, event schemas, taxonomies and implementation
requirements.
• Oversee implementation quality assurance, reconciliation and monitoring to identify tracking issues, data drift and gaps in data completeness.
• Translate business measurement and activation needs into practical data, platform and implementation requirements.
• Coordinate delivery across product, technology, data engineering, privacy, analytics and external implementation partners.
• Maintain continuity of critical OnePass digital analytics services while new platforms, data products and workflows are introduced.
• Own vendor relationships and contribute to platform investment, rationalisation and technology decisions.
• Lead the integration of digital event data with customer, product and transactional data in the Shared Data Asset.
• Enable trusted use of digital data through common metrics, documentation, training and governed self-service capabilities.
• Provide leadership to the Digital Data function, setting priorities and building the capability required as the operating model evolves.
Experience required
· Significant experience leading digital analytics implementation, platform ownership and data delivery, including responsibility for guiding analytical and engineering team members in complex environments.
· Strong knowledge of digital analytics implementation, event tracking, tagging, data layers and event-streaming platforms.
· Strong understanding of digital data governance, consent, quality assurance, digital identity signals, monitoring and reconciliation. Sufficient knowledge of data engineering principles, architecture and delivery practices to set direction, assess technical approaches and maintain appropriate engineering quality and operational standards.
· Ability to lead platform roadmaps, vendors and cross-functional delivery across product, technology, data, privacy and analytics.
· Strong leadership, prioritisation and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to lead through ambiguity and without direct authority.
· Working knowledge of platforms such as Tealium, Amplitude, Snowflake or similar digital analytics and tagging platforms
· Working knowledge of Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Office and collaboration tools preferred.
· Tertiary qualification in analytics, data, digital, marketing, business, technology or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience
· Strong communicator who can work across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
· Comfortable operating in ambiguity, connecting teams and driving delivery.
