Are you a qualified diesel mechanic who’s ready to step up, lead a small team and still stay on the tools?
Our client is a family-owned civil contractor with a strong pipeline of projects and a reputation for safety, quality and looking after their people They’re looking for a hands-on Lead Diesel Mechanic to take charge of the yard and keep their fleet moving.
$140,000 – $150,000 salary for the right experience

Stable, family-owned civil business with long-term work locked in
Supportive, qualified team that has each other’s backs
Variety of work on a mixed civil fleet light vehicles, small plant, trucks and heavy equipment
Being the go-to person for the workshop day to day
Leading and mentoring a small team, setting standards and priorities
Scheduling and coordinating maintenance and repairs across the fleet
Running and improving preventative maintenance to cut breakdowns
Using checklists and quality checks so work is done right, first time
Monitoring inventory and ordering parts, working with procurement to control costs and downtime
Working closely with operations and site teams so gear is ready when they need it
Rolling up your sleeves and jumping on the tools when required
Trade qualification (diesel / heavy vehicle / similar)
Experience as a Lead / Senior Mechanic, Workshop or Maintenance Supervisor / Coordinator
Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, diagnostics and civil gear (excavators, posi track, rollers, graders, trucks)
Welding skills, plus prep and painting know-how
Confident leading others, coaching and holding standards
Able to stay calm under pressure and juggle breakdowns and priorities
