Job Title: Lead DevOps Engineer 
Location: Chennai
Experience: 8+ Years


We are seeking a highly skilled Lead DevOps Engineer with strong experience across AWS and on-prem environments, ideally with a product engineering background. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Linux, Python, infrastructure automation, CI/CD, and cloud-native engineering.
This role requires an individual contributor operating at a senior level, capable of independently implementing build pipelines, infrastructure, observability stacks, and operations processes. Strong troubleshooting and incident-resolution abilities are essential.

Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure & Platform Engineering
•    Implement, and manage AWS cloud infrastructure using:
o    EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, RDS, CloudWatch, EKS/ECS, Lambda, Route53, ALB/NLB.
•    Understand and troubleshoot issues in on-prem infrastructure, including:
o    Proxmox, bare-metal provisioning, networking, and storage systems.
•    Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using:
o    Terraform, CloudFormation.

Configuration Management & Automation
•    Implement and maintain config management using:
o    Ansible (preferred), Chef, or Puppet.
•    Write automation and tooling in Python, Bash, and other scripting languages.
•    Develop reusable modules, playbooks, and internal automation frameworks.

CI/CD & Build Engineering
•    Own, optimize CI/CD pipelines using:
o    GitHub Actions, Github workflows, Jenkins, ArgoCD.
•    Improve build systems, artifact packaging, and deployment workflows.

Containerization & Orchestration
•    Build and manage containerized environments using:
o    Docker, Podman, Kubernetes, Helm, Kustomize.

Observability, Monitoring & Incident Management
•    Set up and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting using:
o    Prometheus/Alloy, Grafana (preferred) and/or ELK/Opensearch, Loki, CloudWatch, Datadog, New Relic, Splunk.
•    Provide operations support and lead critical incident resolution working alongside development and IT teams.

Security & Compliance
•    Implement DevSecOps practices:
o    IAM hardening, secret management, dependency scanning, SAST/DAST, container security.
•    Worked with tools such as HashiCorp Vault, AWS KMS, Trivy or similar.

Collaboration
•    Work cross-functionally with engineering, QA, development, and IT teams.
•    Implement initiatives to modernize tooling, improve developer experience, and streamline operations.

Qualifications
•    8+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer, preferably in product engineering.
•    Expert-level proficiency with Linux (preferably Rocky/CentOS/Ubuntu).
•    Strong experience in Python, Bash, and automation.
•    Hands-on experience with: AWS services, Kubernetes, Terraform/Ansible, CI/CD tooling, monitoring/observability stacks.
•    Experience working in complex multi-environment (on-prem + cloud) infrastructure.
•    Experience with build system redesign and optimization.
•    Ability to work independently and implement design solutions provided.

Preferred Skills
•    Familiarity with analytical database systems like Exasol or large-scale distributed systems.
•    Experience with implementing solutions with focus on security, and zero-trust architecture.
