The Boeing Company is currently seeking Lead Developer Platforms Software Engineer to join a proprietary Air Dominance program in Berkeley, MO. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization.
The primary statement of work for this team is to ensure successful integration of various software products into a consistent DevSecOps framework. This individual will serve as a Technical Lead Engineer for a team with the following statement of work:
Streamline tools for software build, test, integration, automation, etc. to remove waste and inefficiency in the engineering lifecycle
Work with product teams to identify their unique requirements for software tooling and DevSecOps
Work with tools/services such as AWS, Azure, Kubernetes, GitLab CI and components, static code analysis tools, etc.
Analyze safety-critical software to ensure compliance and programmatic benchmarks are met
Work cross-functionally to solve complex engineering problems
Position Responsibilities:
Serve as the technical authority and hands-on lead for the CI/CD infrastructure team, setting platform direction and maintaining quality standards across all delivery infrastructure
Own end-to-end CI/CD pipeline architecture — defining topology, modularity standards, shared pipeline libraries, and build system strategy to support a scaling engineering organization
Lead technical direction for the CI/CD team — conducting architecture reviews, mentoring engineers, and enforcing platform engineering standards
Actively work to reduce pipeline friction, improve build performance, manage system performance metrics, and deliver self-service tooling and onboarding resources
Owns and maintains the Developer Platforms technical roadmap, balancing new capability delivery, security hardening, reliability investments, and technical debt reduction
Partner with engineers to ensure the platform meets both technical and program requirements
Leads team best practices for development, documentation, and maintenance of architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems (in the domains of automated testing, DevSecOps, platform engineering, code scanning, etc.)
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):
Active Secret U.S. Security Clearance. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)
Bachelor's Degree
9+ years of experience programming in C, C++, C#, Python, Java, or Ada
6+ years of experience leading an Agile team using Agile methodologies
6+ years of experience working with DevSecOps technologies such as Kubernetes, Cloud services, GitLab, Terraform, etc.
Experience with managing and/or leading a team either formally or informally, with the ability to provide guidance, mentorship, and support to team members
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, as well as excellent interpersonal and team skills
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science and 14+ years of related work experience OR Bachelor’s Degree and 18+ years of directly related work experience OR 22+ years of related, relevant experience
Ability to work in a multi-tasking environment while supporting multiple concurrent activities
Experience in Defense/Aerospace
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
Knowledge of networking principles
Knowledge of required levels of rigor for safety-critical software

Pay Range: $198,050 - $267,950
