The Role

We are actively seeking a Lead Mechanical Designer wanting to join our core team of Designers in the Brisbane CBD.

Responsibilities

  • Lead multi-disciplinary design teams on EPCM projects.
  • Review detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and calculations for mechanical components and systems.
  • Utilise CAD design software to create 2D and 3D models.
  • Ensure designs comply with applicable codes and standards.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to understand project requirements, objectives, and constraints.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers and project managers.
  • Participate in design review meetings and provide technical support to resolve design related issues.
  • Perform quality check reviews to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project specifications.
  • Maintain accurate records of design revisions, modifications, and approvals.
  • Provide regular updates to project stakeholders and management.

Key Criteria

  • Certificate III Engineering (Desirable)
  • 15 + years relevant experience
  • Proficiency with Advanced Steel and Plant 3D. MicroStation also desirable.
  • Previous experience in mining and mineral processing within an EPCM model.
  • Experience in designing and constructing facilities for base metals, rare earth minerals, and mineral processing.
  • Innovative thinker with a solution focused approach to problems and the ability to work autonomously to deadlines.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate technical information clearly.
  • Well-developed communication (written and verbal) and organizational skills.
