Manages computerized databases, including base definition, structure, documentation, long-range requirements, operational guidelines and protection. Oversees accuracy and completeness of data in master files and various support tools, such as base dictionaries. Manages and maintains security and integrity controls. Formulates and monitors policies, procedures and standards relating to database management. Oversees enhancements that will improve the performance and reliability of the system. May be internal or external, client-focused, working in conjunction with Professional Services and outsourcing functions. May include company-wide, web-enabled solutions.
We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Database Support Engineer to oversee global database operations within Availity’s AWS-hosted ecosystem. This role serves as the onshore lead and primary escalation point for critical incidents, ensuring reliability, security, and performance across mission-critical healthcare data platforms. You will drive automation, compliance, and cost optimization initiatives while collaborating with offshore teams in a follow-the-sun support model. As a strategic leader, you will mentor team members, enforce best practices, and partner with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performing database solutions that support Availity’s transformation from an Oracle-centric environment to modern, cloud-native architecture.
