Lead Data Scientist Audience & Media Measurement

For our Audience Measurement Data Team, we are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic

Lead Data Scientist

Our Audience & Media Measurement team is working on a diverse set of media projects, including passive electronic measurement of cross-media behavior, large survey-based readership and consumer behavior studies and ad-hoc media studies. Data processing, data integration, data modelling, complex analyses etc. are an essential part of our deliveries. As a Lead Data Scientist, your role is central in this team to support our deliveries and shape our methodologies.

The following activities will be part of your responsibilities:

  • Leading a data team to take ownership of key product areas in market research
  • Developing and maintaining production quality data science systems for our client NMO (Nationaal Media Onderzoek)
  • Manipulating complex data from different sources and data processing in R, Python, SQL and Google Cloud Platform
  • Performing complex statistical analyses and prediction models for market research
  • Actively participating in different research projects with advice, analysis and other support to the research team
  • Performing checks on the results before delivery to the research team
  • Unlocking research data, social media and customer data, structured and unstructured
  • Clear visualization and communication of the results to internal and/or external customers
  • Contributing to the renewal and improvement of existing structures and processes

Your qualities

  • Programming background and experience in deployment of production standard code as part of data science workflows: Python or R
  • Experience in git with collaborative development of data science workflows / products
  • A statistical background and affinity with research methods and techniques such as regression, segmentation, data fusion. Experience in survey research is an advantage.
  • Academic working and thinking level
  • Able to convey complex problems with simple words
  • Pragmatic, precise and creative

Your skills

  • Skilled in learning software packages
  • Experience with working in the cloud especially GCP
  • Experience with working with automated production systems which must produce regular data as well as ad hoc projects
  • Proactive, with an eye for detail
  • Flexible and able to handle deadlines well
  • Team player, manager and coach, with a drive to deliver results together
  • Good command of Dutch and/or English
  • Preferably available full-time, but at least 32 hours per week
