Data Modeler

The ideal candidate is a hands-on SQL, familiar with DB fundamentals, should have good exposure using Erwin. They

must be at ease working in an agile environment with little supervision. The person should be a self-motivated

person with a passion for problem solving and continuous learning.

Designation: Lead Data Modeler (4A): 6 - 9 Years

Office Days - 3 days (Flexible) /

Office Days Hybrid, 3 days

Location Gurgaon, Pune , Bangalore, Chennai , Hyderabad

Role and responsibilities

• Perform as Data design/modeling lead to support the system designing and construction in data layer and
• application systems.
• Understand the current database system with business operation demands and technical capability.
• Develop data models and related designs, from the data architecture concept, logical, to physical data models for
• application database.
• Providing expertise in data modeling tools and techniques for designing data models for applications and related
• systems.
• Assure that the modeling complies with the data modeling standards (normalization, data validation)
• Working closely with business stakeholders, as well as potential users of the information system to define and analyze data requirements needed to support the business processes within the scope of corresponding information systems in organizations.
• Ensure compliance with technical processes and standards.
• Identify, communicate, and mitigate Risks, Assumptions, Issues, and Decisions throughout the full lifecycle.

Technical skills requirements

• The candidate must demonstrate proficiency in,
• Strong Data Modelling Skills in designing, creating and maintaining conceptual, logical, and physical data model.
• Must have a strong understanding of Data modeling principles (3nf/dimensional), methods and techniques.
• 8 years data modeling experience preferably in Pharma or life sciences industry, ERStudio or similar
• experience. Experience with Data Governance tools, enterprise data management solutions, Modeling best
• practices, and MDM.
• Good knowledge on data profiling, integrating, and modeling data from different source systems.
• Experience in translating/mapping relational data models into XML and Schemas
• Should have hands-on experience in relational, dimensional, and analytic data modeling using RDBMS, dimensional, SQL, PL/SQL, NoSQL data platform technologies, and ETL and data ingestion protocols.
• Should have strong knowledge in creating the data model for OLAP and OLTP systems.
• Strong knowledge of Database Architecture, normalization concepts, and NFR requirements
• Good Hands-on expertise in data modeling tools (e.g. Power Designer, Erwin, ER/Studio)
• Hands-on expertise in creating Conceptual, Logical Data models and Physical data models Using ERWIN/ER
• Studio.
• Experience with data warehouse, Data Lake, and enterprise big data platforms.
• Experience on RDBMS platforms (e.g. Redshift, SQL Server, Oracle, Teradata, Snowflake, Postgres)
• Must have hands-on experience on implementing data models on AWS Redshift along with other AWS cloud solutions services including S3, Glacier, RDS, Athena, DynamoDB etc.
• Experience working with extracting business rules to develop transformations, data lineage, metadata, and data catalogue.

Nice-to-have skills

• Azure Cloud certification
• Unix or Shell scripting
• Strong delivery background across the delivery of high-value, business-facing technical projects in major organizations

Qualifications

B.Tech./M.Tech. or BCA/MCA degree from a reputed university
