Job Description

The Lead Data Analyst is the subject matter expert in all Tableau modules, including Desktop, Bridge and Cloud. Manages users, groups, permission and projects in Tableau Cloud. Oversees and assigns the daily work of the Data Analysts.

  • Responsible for Tableau administration including license assignment, maintaining groups, security, and other functions as applicable.

  • Utilizes Tableau's features and functionalities to create interactive, dynamic, and visually compelling dashboards and reports.

  • Ensures the visualizations effectively communicate complex data in a clear and intuitive manner.

  • Integrates data from multiple sources and formats into Tableau, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and reliability.

  • Prepares and cleans datasets for analysis and visualization, resolving any data quality issues and handling missing or incomplete data.

  • Optimizes Tableau dashboards for speed, efficiency, and responsiveness to deliver a seamless user experience.

  • Stays current with the latest data visualization best practices and industry trends and apply this knowledge to improve the design and usability of Tableau dashboards.

  • Conducts training sessions and provides support to team members and stakeholders in understanding Tableau visualizations, self-service reporting, and data interpretation.

  • Understands CII business needs and objectives; builds systems to transform raw data into actionable business insights.

  • Develop strategies for effective data analysis and reporting; supports, configures, implements analytics solutions.

  • Collaborates with various departments to understand their data needs, objectives, and challenges.

  • Perform in-depth analysis of diverse datasets to identify trends, patterns, and correlations that can drive business insights.

  • Translates analytical findings into meaningful and persuasive stories using data visualization techniques.

  • Communicate insights effectively to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

  • Oversees the daily work and assigns projects to Data Analysts; provides support as applicable.

  • Ensures compliance with data governance policies and maintains data security standards while handling sensitive information.

  • Keep abreast of industry news and trends; apply industry knowledge to interpret data and improve performance.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSBILITIES

  • This role has no supervisory responsibility.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field required.

  • Proven experience as a Data Analyst or Data Science, with a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience using Tableau to build interactive dashboards and reports.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

  • Advanced proficiency in Tableau, including calculated fields, parameters, table calculations, LODs, and data blending.

  • Strong SQL skills for data extraction and manipulation.

  • Familiarity with data visualization best practices and principles.

  • Ability to approach complex business problems with a data-driven and analytical mindset. Comfortable with exploratory data analysis and hypothesis testing.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Capable of translating technical findings into non-technical language for stakeholders.

  • Collaborative and able to work effectively within cross-functional teams.

  • Meticulous in ensuring data accuracy and visualization quality.

  • Able to handle multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.

  • Ability to handle confidential information.

  • Maintains patient privacy, including protecting the confidentiality, safeguarding the integrity and availability, and limiting the use and disclosure of patient Protected Health Information (PHI) to authorized individuals and entities.

  • Participates in, conducts, and sustains performance quality improvement activities according to designated role and responsibilities.

  • Sensitivity to service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  • Tableau certification preferred

COMPUTER SKILLS

  • Intermediate knowledge in a Windows environment.

  • Intermediate knowledge of database software

  • Intermediate knowledge of Tableau

VISION REQUIREMENTS

COMPENSATION:

$84,641.00 USD - $103,262.00 USD

In accordance with California law, the expected pay range for this position is included in this posting. The actual compensation will be determined based on factors permitted by law. New hires will be offered a salary at the starting point of the range to maintain internal inequity and allow opportunity for future salary growth. CII salaries are determined based on comprehensive internal and external market analysis, as well as the skills, education, and experience relevant to each position.
