Context and why we are recruiting
The Centre for Cybersecurity (C4C) was established by the World Economic Forum in 2018 with the aim of building a collective response to global cybersecurity challenges by leveraging the impartial, public-private platform of the World Economic Forum. The Centre for Cybersecurity is today working with over 180 organizations, from both public and private sectors, towards securing our digital future.
We are seeking a highly-driven Initiative Lead to drive activities within the Cyber Resilience portfolio. The ideal candidate will be technically astute and have a strong background in analysing and drafting on different aspects of cybersecurity policy and technology. In particular, the candidate would preferably have exposure to critical infrastructure industries and their specific cybersecurity concerns.
Reporting line and how is this role embedded in the wider team?
The role will report to the Lead for Initiatives and Communities of the Centre for Cybersecurity. The candidate will work closely with Centre colleagues and relevant Forum counterparts to engage public- and private-sector partners. The role will also connect with related Centre initiatives, communities and events, including the Annual Meeting on Cybersecurity, the Global Cybersecurity Outlook report and the CISO Community.
The candidate will collaborate with colleagues across the Centre, other relevant Forum centres and the Global Industries team. Externally, they will engage a broad range of stakeholders, including business partners, research institutions, academia and expert communities.
What will you be responsible for?
Scale the cyber resilience initiatives of the Centre, most notably in important critical infrastructure sectors.
Design and execute cross-industry exchanges, with the objective of building communities of action at the ecosystem level.
Build relationships, curate and grow the initiative participants, which include a range of public and private sector stakeholders.
Build consensus and develop thought leadership pieces on the elements intrinsic to cyber resilience such as embedding a culture of cybersecurity, governance, cyber readiness, supply chain security, etc.
Understand and deploy the Forum’s digital knowledge tools such as Transformation Maps to build awareness.
Shape the design and content of sessions for the Centre and Forum events and produce relevant insight to be used in products for various audiences such as white papers, infographics and reports.
Support the strategic delivery of the Chief Information Security Officers Community by coordinating the planning and execution of CISO Community activities, ensuring smooth delivery, strong participation and effective follow-up.
What core knowledge, skills and experience are we looking to add to our team?
Domain Knowledge and Experience
Broad intellectual background with a Master's degree from a recognized university
8-10 years’ work experience in a relevant organisation in cybersecurity or technology-related domains
Excellent presentation, community-building and facilitation skills
Efficiency and effectiveness in use of knowledge tools and products
Core Skills
Strategic thinking with ability to identify trends and patterns of transformation
Strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence
Ability to communicate effectively with both business and technical stakeholders
Excellent verbal and written language skills in English; verbal proficiency in other languages would be an asset
