What you will do:
The Lead CT Scanning Technologist,
under the direction of the Radiologist, Medical Staff and management performs diagnostic
and therapeutic CAT scanning examinations. The Lead CT Scanning Technologist spends 75% of time
providing direct patient care with 25% of time allocated to clerical, administrative, Quality Assurance, American College of Radiology Accreditation and educational responsibilities. Will be responsible for the specific daily operations and development of their respective areas, consistently analyzing processes and customer needs and implementing the changes necessary to ensure maximum efficiencies and customer relations.
Responsibilities
Provides timely, patient and examination specific education to all patients and family member to enhance the patients experience and solicit patient and family cooperation through an increased knowledge base.
Obtains and records a complete clinical history pertinent to examination requested.
Evaluates requests for appropriateness, refers concerns to coordinator and/or radiologist.
Instructs patients as to the nature of the exam being performed.
Effectively communicates information regarding post procedures.
Ensures proper radiation protection measures are taken to provide an ALARA environment for patients, co-workers and self.
Responsible for understanding the ALARA program and actively participating in dosimetry program.
Effectively completes all required documentation related to patient care, imaging procedures and RIS requirements.
Demonstrates proper use of positioning devices and other equipment necessary to provide safe, accurate, and complete exams.
Assists in the instruction of new personnel.
What you will need
AAS in Radiology
Must be currently licensed by the New York State Department of Health in Diagnostic Radiography with intravenous contrast administration certificate
2 Years clinical Radiologic Technologist experience preferred
Must be CT Scanning registered or registry eligible
Pay Range: $43.70-$59.11
Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
