Lead Counselor
Full-Time |Required License: LPC, LCSW, or LMFT

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or marriage and family therapy (preferred)
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in behavioral health and/or substance use treatment
  • Active, unrestricted licensure as one of the following:
    • LPC – Licensed Professional Counselor
    • LCSW – Licensed Clinical Social Worker
    • LMFT – Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist

Responsibilities

  • Assess the counseling needs of assigned clients
  • Evaluate clients for substance use disorders using DSM criteria and determine appropriate levels of care utilizing ASAM guidelines
  • Provide individual, group, and family counseling services
  • Facilitate psychoeducational and therapeutic groups
  • Develop and implement treatment plans and discharge/continuum-of-care plans
  • Maintain an active caseload, including case management, utilization review updates, treatment planning, and clinical charting
  • Document all counseling services, assessments, reassessments, referrals, and follow-up in the clinical record
  • Coordinate support services for clients and families and document all services provided
  • Communicate and coordinate with referral sources (legal, school, employer, etc.)
  • Facilitate crisis intervention using a multidisciplinary, team-based approach
  • Partner with the Clinical Director and Executive Director to establish and maintain a structured, therapeutic environment
  • Provide guidance, support, and clinical leadership to counseling staff
  • Ensure compliance with Pinnacle Treatment Centers’ policies and federal confidentiality laws (42 CFR Part 2)
  • Attend team meetings, complete required trainings, and perform other duties as assigned
