Job Description

As a Lead Cost Engineer, you will be instrumental in optimizing project costs, maintaining financial discipline, and ensuring successful project completion. You will collaborate closely with project teams, providing cost engineering expertise and guidance to achieve project goals.

  • Lead and manage a team of cost engineers, ensuring effective collaboration and knowledge sharing.
  • Develop and implement cost engineering strategies, methodologies, and best practices for infrastructure projects.
  • Conduct comprehensive cost estimates, including material, labor, and equipment costs, to support project planning and budgeting.
  • Review and analyze project designs, specifications, and contracts to identify potential cost implications and provide cost-saving recommendations.
  • Monitor and control project costs throughout the project lifecycle, identifying cost variances and implementing corrective actions.
  • Prepare and present cost reports, forecasts, and financial analyses to project stakeholders, ensuring transparency and accountability.
  • Collaborate with project managers and other disciplines to integrate cost engineering into project planning and decision-making processes.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, technologies, and cost-saving techniques to enhance cost engineering practices.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to junior cost engineers, fostering their professional development.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and quality standards in cost engineering practices.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, with a minimum of 20 years of experience in cost engineering.
  • Proven experience as a Lead Cost Engineer or in a similar senior role, preferably in PMC infrastructure projects.
  • Excellent knowledge of cost engineering principles, methodologies, and industry standards.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to mentor and guide a team of cost engineers.
  • Proficiency in cost estimation software and tools, such as Microsoft Excel, CostX, or similar applications.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify cost-saving opportunities and implement cost control measures.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex cost engineering concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery of cost engineering services.
  • Familiarity with Saudi Arabia's construction industry and local regulations is an advantage.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage and prioritize tasks effectively.
