Lead Cook - Food Service Department
Grand Villa of Ocala is seeking a dedicated and experienced Lead Cook to join our compassionate team in providing exceptional dining experiences for our residents. Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook nutritious, appealing meals in accordance with dietary guidelines and residents’ preferences
- Supervise and assist kitchen staff to ensure efficient and high-quality food service
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in compliance with health and safety regulations
- Manage inventory, order supplies, and ensure proper storage of food items
- Collaborate with the dining team to plan menus and accommodate special dietary needs
- Ensure timely delivery of meals and excellent service to residents
- Follow all safety protocols and assist in training new staff as needed
Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven culinary experience, preferably in a senior living or healthcare setting
- Strong knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and dietary regulations
- Leadership skills with the ability to supervise and motivate team members
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work flexible hours, including some afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Level two background check and drug screening clearance required
- Passion for working with seniors and providing compassionate care
