
The Lead Controls Engineer – Software Orchestration will translate complex product requirements into automated, repeatable deployment solutions. This role partners with Technical Leaders and System Architects to drive next-generation advancements across HMI platforms, virtualization, and cybersecurity — with a primary focus on developing software automation that reduces manual touch time, improves deployment quality, and scales across domestic and global fulfillment operations.
Work closely with our teams across Power, networking and collaborating with experts, enabling the adoption of the Web development technology stack, contemporary software development methodologies, best practices, and proven processes to deliver innovative software solutions.
Roles and Responsibilities
Work in an Agile development environment
Architects, designs and/or programs/develops a small module or a large component, feature, set of features, whole feature area or entire software product
Drive Requisition Readiness — Ensure all necessary artifacts, documentation, and automation frameworks are in place to support application engineering, and requisition teams prior to product handoff.
Develop Deployment Automation Software — Partner with Technical Leaders, System Architects, and Product Owners to design and build software automation solutions that enable consistent, high-quality product deployments with minimal human intervention.
Convert NPI Inputs into Automated Workflows — Translate product specifications and NPI outputs into structured, executable automation processes that eliminate manual steps and reduce deployment risk.
Serve as the Technical Authority — Act as the primary point of contact for fulfillment teams on technical questions and guidance related to new HMI, Networking, and Cybersecurity product introductions.
Lead Training Initiatives — Coordinate and deliver technical training for domestic and global fulfillment teams on new products, automation tooling, and deployment procedures.
Develop & Maintain Standard Work — Author and continuously improve standardized deployment documentation and automation playbooks for HMI, networking, and cybersecurity products.
Manage Concurrent Product Handoffs — Prioritize and execute multiple simultaneous product transitions while maintaining quality and schedule commitments.
Own and manage multiple products at once, including the maintenance of legacy applications developed in Java and Python
Demonstrate technical skills and analytic thinking required to solve problems.
Track technology trends and drive innovations in the product.
Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
Experience: 5+ years in full stack development role
Front-End: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React.js
Back-End: Node.js, Java, Python
Databases: NoSQL (Redis).
Operating System: - Linux, Windows
Desired Characteristics
Design and develop user-facing features and client-side architecture using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks (React, Angular)
Build and maintain server-side logic, API's (NodeJS, Python or Java), strong backend development skills with knowledge on latest design patterns and coding best practices.
Virtualization: - HyperV, Docker
Experience of source control management, particularly GitHub.
Manage the full software development lifecycle (SDLC)
Implement CI/CD pipelines and testing protocols.
Business Acumen
Experience with industrial software applications and domains, preferable experience in Power industry domain
