Lead Contract Specialist

As a Center of Excellence, Commercial Business Services (CBS) drives commercial excellence across Care Enablement. The team delivers market insights, health economics expertise, brand management, and validated marketing and sales strategies. CBS leads the development of commercial tools, processes, and training to support market access, strategic product positioning, and enhance the global customer experience. This is a full-time, hybrid role of 37.5 hours, working Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm. Our office is based in Huthwaite, Nottinghamshire.


Your Responsibilities:

  • Lead complex contract negotiations and commercial discussions.
  • Manage contractual activities for strategic tenders, bids, and frameworks.
  • Provide expert contractual and commercial advice across the business.
  • Develop and maintain contract governance frameworks and best practices.
  • Identify, manage, and mitigate contractual and commercial risks.
  • Oversee high-value contracts throughout the full lifecycle.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual, regulatory, and governance requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement across contracting, tendering, and commercial processes.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to develop commercial strategies and solutions.
  • Lead contract audits, reviews, and dispute resolution activities.
  • Represent the Contracts function in strategic and cross-functional initiatives.
  • Act as the subject matter expert for contract management and commercial excellence.


Your Profile:

  • Professional qualification or accreditation in Contract Management, Procurement, or a related discipline.
  • Significant experience in contract management, including strategic and complex commercial agreements.
  • Strong knowledge of contract lifecycle management, tendering, procurement, and commercial governance.
  • Excellent negotiation, drafting, risk management, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong commercial and business acumen, with the ability to balance risk and opportunity.
  • Experience working in regulated environments; healthcare, MedTech, NHS, or public sector experience is advantageous.
  • Ability to interpret complex contractual and commercial information and translate it into clear business guidance.
  • Highly analytical, detail-oriented, and confident in making informed decisions.
  • Proven ability to build effective relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Resilient, proactive, and solutions-focused, with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Strong financial awareness and ability to use data to support commercial decision-making.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and contract management systems (e.g. SAP or similar platforms).
  • Adaptable and comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Fluent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
