Lead Continuous Improvement Engineer

Mitsubishi Power is hiring a Lead Continuous Improvement Engineer in the Orlando Service Center Location. The Lead Continuous Improvement Engineer is an advanced level engineering position that requires knowledge of engineering principles and demonstrated experience in continuous improvement practices through applications of Lean Manufacturing and standard Industrial Engineering tools. With a focus on continuous improvement and data solutions, this role is responsible for leading efforts to design innovative solutions, optimize processes, and leverage data effectively to drive improvements across the organization. This role is a leadership role responsible for training and coaching team members and leading continuous improvement in culture in the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates our core competencies: Action oriented, change champion, customer-focused, developing self & others, and ownership
  • Lead enterprise‑level continuous improvement initiatives to drive operational performance aligned with business objectives.
  • Champion, facilitate, and sustain improvement events, coaching and influencing teams across the organization.
  • Train and mentor employees in Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement principles, including 5S, standard work, TPM, and related best practices.
  • Lead training on new processes, quality standards, and Lean methods, supporting the development and implementation of standard operating procedures.
  • Analyze operational performance metrics (e.g., productivity, efficiency) and translate results into targeted improvement actions.
  • Manage a portfolio of improvement and operational projects, ensuring alignment with business priorities, timelines, and resources.
  • Conduct financial, statistical, and ROI analyses to evaluate initiatives and support data‑driven decision making.
  • Apply analytical and statistical tools to improve process reliability, quality, and overall operational effectiveness.
  • Communicate improvement strategies, progress, and results clearly across all levels of the organization.
  • Serve as a facilitator and project manager to ensure initiatives are delivered on time, on budget, and with measurable results.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical or engineering discipline and 7 years of experience leading cross‑functional process improvement projects and demonstrated application of continuous improvement tools. A Master’s degree may substitute for some experience.
  • Green Belt, ADKAR Change Management Practitioner, or PMP certification a plus.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to read and interpret technical and procedural documents, write reports, and present effectively to employees and customers.
  • Solid analytical, mathematical, and problem‑solving skills, including the ability to work with numbers, follow written or diagrammed instructions, and address practical operational challenges.
  • Proficiency with business and technical computer applications, including email, word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and familiarity with MRP, ERP, and BOM processes.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis and must not require employer immigration sponsorship, now or in the future.
  • Ability to travel 25%.
