What will you do?

The Lead Consultant, Water role will drive the strategic direction and operational excellence of Aurecon's water sector practice in Malaysia. This role combines technical leadership, business development, and team management to deliver integrated water solutions across municipal, industrial, and environmental sectors.

  • Lead, develop, and grow Aurecon’s Water Sector practice in Malaysia
  • Provide technical leadership across water infrastructure projects, ensuring high-quality delivery
  • Drive business development initiatives, identify opportunities, and support winning work
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, stakeholders, and partners
  • Oversee project delivery, ensuring alignment with scope, budget, and timelines
  • Mentor and develop team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across regions to deliver integrated solutions
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and sustainability practices
  • Contribute to innovation, digital transformation, and thought leadership within the water sector

What can you bring to the team?

Firstly, you will share our genuine passion for re-imagining engineering and be someone that actively pursues continuous learning to help shape the future. you will also need the following:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree inCivil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Environmental
  • Minimum 8–10 years of relevant experiencein the water sector
  • Proven expertise in water infrastructure, including: River water supply and distribution systems, Industrial water supply, and Wastewater and sewage treatment systems
  • Strong track record in project management and technical delivery
  • Demonstrated experience in client relationship management and business development
  • Established network across public and private sector stakeholders
  • Solid understanding of regulatory compliance and permitting processes
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to lead and collaborate within multidisciplinary teams
  • Knowledge of sustainability practices and emerging industry trend
  • Fluent in English; proficiency inBahasa Malaysiais an advantage
  • Open toMalaysian citizens or valid work permit holders
