Why This Role Matters

We are seeking a Lead Cloud Engineer with deep expertise in Microsoft Azure, particularly Platform as a Service (PaaS) technology, to join our platform engineering team. This is a strategic, hands-on role responsible for building and maintaining scalable and secure PaaS solutions that support modern application architectures.

As the technical lead, you’ll play a key role in shaping the cloud landscape, mentoring engineers, and driving platform excellence across development, operations, and security.

How You'll Make an Impact

  • Implement scalable, resilient Azure PaaS architectures including App Services, Azure Functions, Azure Container Apps, Event Grid, Service Bus, Logic Apps, Cosmos DB , Azure SQL and API Management.

  • Lead cloud-native application enablement, advising development teams on best practices for cloud adoption, DevOps, and infrastructure-as-code.

  • Drive automation using native scripting (AZ CLI and PowerShell), ARM and Bicep for Azure resource provisioning and configuration.

  • Define and implement governance, security, and compliance policies for Azure PaaS environments.

  • Optimize performance, cost, and availability of Azure-hosted services.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, security, service management and architecture.

  • Drive improvements in observability, increasing reliability and availability.

  • Mentor junior engineers and promote knowledge sharing across the team.

  • Stay current with Azure product changes and drive evaluation of new services and capabilities.

  • Lead incident resolution and root cause analysis for platform-related issues.

What you’ll bring to the team

  • Strong experience in architecting and delivering Azure PaaS solutions.

  • Deep knowledge of services like Azure App Services, Functions, Azure Container Services, API Management, Event Hub/Service Bus, CosmosDB and Azure SQL.

  • Proficient with infrastructure-as-code tools (Bicep, ARM).

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions and Azure DevOps).

  • Solid scripting knowledge in PowerShell and use of Azure CLI.

  • Strong understanding of cloud security, identity and access management, RBAC, and Azure Policies.

  • Strong understanding with networking in Azure (VNETs, private endpoints, network security groups, VNET peering and firewalls).

  • Demonstrated experience in leading cloud engineering initiatives or projects.

  • Microsoft Certified:

  • Azure Solutions Architect Expert

  • Azure DevOps Engineer Expert

To really stand out you’ll:

  • Be Microsoft Certified:

  • Azure Certified Security Engineer

  • Azure Certified Network Engineer

  • Have experience with containerization Docker, Azure Container Apps

  • Have exposure to hybrid cloud or multi-cloud environments (AWS)

  • Have experience working in Agile delivery models.

  • Be familiar with FinOps or cost optimization practices.

  • Have experience working in Agile delivery models.

Salary: $120,000.00 - $140,000.00
