The Lead Civil Site Engineer is Responsible for Site(s) Civil construction, installation & coordination of project's buildings, Equipment foundations, utilities, permits and any other civil works including security requirements at company project‘s (Substations, HVDC, SVC, STATCOM,…) during OTR phase and participating in ITO phase as assigned.
Key Responsibilities
Actively manage Site Civil works construction, installation, inspection, testing of project's buildings, Equipment foundations, utilities, permits and any other civil works (including security requirements ) during project OTR phase and participation in ITO phase as needed, including but not limited to Control of Subcontractors progress and oversight/planning of Site resources, reporting, liaise with other project stakeholders (e.g. Client, Site Consultant, Project Management, MEP works, CW/MEP Engineering, EHS, Quality security systems,..etc).
Utilize & develop in-depth knowledge of Civil works technical aspects. Use prior experience and acquire technical expertise to execute the construction strategy.
In-depth understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish Estimation and execution works.
Supervise & inspect Civil works works execution maintaining QA/QC and EHS requirements including ability to carry out Civil works items QS/take-off and invoices validation
Prepare and timely provide Site Reports/documentation and accurate internal and external reports (Daily, Bi Weekly, Monthly, 3 weeks lookahead Incidents, PTW, QA/QC..etc).
Understand Contractual T&C (Terms and Conditions) commitments
Ensure contractual obligations are met and attend technical & progress meetings internal as well as with Customers.
Ensure all in-Site activities are carried out safely complying with company environmental, health, and safety (EHS) guidelines and procedures.
Provide expert consultation on complex projects.
Planning; possibly recommending and administering policies and procedures.
In-depth knowledge of scope identification, SE specification/standards & claims analysis
Ability and willingness to work holidays, weekends and overtime as required by Site assignments.
Drive customer satisfaction through commitment to quality.
Support the business growth initiatives.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
Minimum 8 years of experience in managing Site civil works at 380kv Substations and other power projects
Strong knowledge in Civil works construction, installation, Quality processing include liaison with MEP and electrical equipment installation activities.
Strong knowledge in Civil works Codes, standards, quality processing, QS/take-off & resources planning/Estimate
Valid driver's license and passport
Fluent English

Ability to understand and implement Architectural and structural technical drawings, General Arrangement, etc…).
Strong computer skills using AutoCAD & MS Office Software Suite.
Excellent written and oral communication skills, to convey technical concepts to business and technical personnel
Fluency in Arabic is a plus
Ability to work under pressure; Take ownership of onsite activities
Willing to travel, relocate in country and worldwide, and to work over-time
Strong analytic and problem-solving skills
Good interpersonal skills.
