Healthcare providers, poison control centers, and government departments need trusted evidence to protect patients and public health. Universities need reliable resources to educate the clinicians of tomorrow, while pharmaceutical organizations and health plans need timely insights to advance their work.
Micromedex by Merative has been trusted by users around the world for over 50 years:
Patient Safety: Impartial and curated clinical evidence that’s continually reviewed and updated to inform safe decision-making at the point of care and optimal patient outcomes.
Clinical Efficiency: Innovative search functionality for fast insights, and seamless workflow integration in electronic health records (EHR) for clinical efficiency and enhanced digital maturity of your organization.
Organizational Performance: Trusted resources on a single platform to enhance clinician experience, with tools to manage medication costs and support patient satisfaction, including HCAHPS scores.
Micromedex is in transformation, and we are seeking a top-tier Lead CI/CD Platform Engineer who can help modernize how MDX builds, deploys, operates, and scales mission-critical clinical applications in production.
This is a transformative senior individual contributor role for an engineer who combines deep CI/CD capability, platform architecture judgement, release discipline, and enough SRE and operations systems expertise to improve how MDX delivers safely into vendor-operated production.
You will bring strong CI/CD depth, practical platform engineering judgement, required streaming model expertise, transformation capability, and the ability to translate engineering intent into reliable deployment models, release runbooks, SLOs, incident response practices, controls, and handoffs for a vendor-led production operations model.
Key Responsibilities:
Build CI/CD golden paths: Design and improve GitHub- and Jenkins-based pipelines, deployment automation, packaging, feature flags, rollback patterns, and release controls that reduce time to deployment while improving quality and repeatability.
Transform delivery and release maturity: Standardize deployment practices, release runbooks, environment promotion, operational readiness, and engineering patterns so teams can release faster with stronger control and lower production risk.
Enable vendor-operated production: Translate engineering intent into deployment procedures, runbooks, SLOs, incident response handoffs, escalation paths, and measurable service controls that a production operations partner can execute reliably.
Provide platform and streaming architecture expertise: Work across application architecture, infrastructure, streaming models, databases, caching, environments, security, observability, and deployment dependencies to shape delivery patterns that support MDX transformation.
Improve automation and Infrastructure-as-Code: Use GitHub, Jenkins, Ansible, deployment scripting, configuration management, and Infrastructure-as-Code to reduce manual effort, environment drift, and deployment variability.
Strengthen SRE and operations practices: Improve SLO readiness, observability hooks, incident response, post-incident actions, deployment resilience, and production operability without becoming a pure operations role.
Partner across and outside the organization: Work with engineering, architecture, security, infrastructure, product, vendor operations, and external partners to remove delivery bottlenecks and embed platform standards across squads.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
8+ years of hands-on engineering experience across CI/CD, DevOps, platform engineering, or release engineering, with proven depth in complex production software environments.
Demonstrated expertise building and improving CI/CD pipelines, automated deployments, rollback patterns, feature flag practices, release controls, environment promotion models, and deployment approaches that reduce time to production.
Strong proficiency in deployment scripting, with practical experience using languages such as Python, Bash, or Groovy for automation, CI/CD integration, and operational tooling.
Ability to manage and improve GitHub-based engineering workflows, repositories, branching strategies, pull request controls, pipeline integrations, and release automation, with strong proficiency in Jenkins, Ansible, Infrastructure-as-Code, source control, build automation, test automation, artifact management, configuration management, and deployment scripting
Advanced CI/CD engineering experience across GitHub, Jenkins, pipeline design, artifact management, deployment automation, feature flags, rollback patterns, and release controls.
Experience enabling vendor-operated production through release runbooks, deployment procedures, operational handoffs, knowledge transfer, and service controls.
Strong streaming skills, including hands-on experience with streaming models, event-driven architecture, asynchronous processing, and operational patterns required to run streaming workloads reliably in production.
Experience supporting production readiness through SLOs, observability, incident management practices, escalation procedures, and post-incident continuous improvement.
Ability to operate as a transformation-minded engineer who can identify delivery maturity gaps, simplify complex deployment processes, improve release runbooks, strengthen feature flag adoption, reduce time to deployment, and influence better engineering standards across teams.
Strong troubleshooting and triage skills, with the ability to diagnose build, deployment, environment, and production-readiness issues under pressure and drive them to resolution.
Clear, confident communication and partnership skills with the ability to work across engineering, architecture, product, security, infrastructure, vendor operations, and external partner teams.
Self-driven, detail-oriented, and highly technical, with a passion for automation, operational excellence, and improving developer productivity.
Preferred Skills:
Infrastructure-as-Code and automation capability using tools such as Ansible, Terraform, scripting, configuration management, and environment automation.
Experience in Java.
Practical SRE and operations systems knowledge, including SLOs, observability, alerting, incident management, resilience, post-incident improvement, and production readiness reviews.
Platform architecture depth across Java applications, cloud infrastructure, databases, caching, streaming models, event-driven services, Kubernetes, Docker, Cloudflare, and related production dependencies.
Experience in regulated, clinical, or high-availability environments where auditability, resilience, change control, and data privacy are important.
Work Environment:
The role may occasionally require flexibility across time zones to support release windows, operational readiness, incident follow-up, and knowledge transfer with production partners.
