OBJECTIVES/PURPOSE (3-4 bullets)

  • Deliver a Unique Customer Experience through a Self-driving, Agile, Compliant and Regional differentiated distribution network guided by our commitment to the Patients, People and Planet.
  • Lead the deployment of strategic logistic network initiatives in geographical area of responsibility (ie,Air to Sea, Rail, warehouse of the future, New Packaging Technologies...)
  • Responsible for managing operations, compliance and sustainability for China import/export transportation, China primary and domestic logistics activities, including Taizhou warehouse activities, in collaboration with all stakeholders at plants, distribution centers and partners to achieve Takeda’s compliance and sustainability goals, process improvement and cost effectiveness ambition

  • Act as a China team Lead:
    • Mentor the team members to enhance their skills and professional development.
    • Regularly collaborate and provide directions to team members to align efforts with the team’s goals and objectives.
    • As part of a collaborative team environment, respect other team members by sharing information.
  • Lead the China Taizhou warehouse operations
  • Lead the import of goods to Tianjin plants and primary domestic transportation activities.
  • Lead the export of goods from Tianjin plants to APAC countries.
  • Lead the implementation of strategic initiatives pertaining to GDLJA in collaboration with manufacturing plants, CMOs, BUs, external business partners (LSPs, LLP, 3PLs) and internal business partners (QA, procurement, finance...) in scope of responsibilities.
  • Lead QBRs & Performance mgmt. of Logistic Service Providers in scope of responsibility and support Supplier management process to define guidelines & procedures for the selection of solutions to achieve overall sustainability goals, compliance, costs improvement and service level
  • Partner and collaborate with colleagues in Procurement, Finance, Quality Assurance, and Supply Chain to ensure key metrics are achieved, i.e. Customer Service Levels Truck Load-fill, Sea Ratio, Carbon Emission and Costs performance
  • Acts as compliance champion for GDLJA to mentor and coach team to ensure GDL related Investigations are comprehensive, closed on time building Quality into the investigation process resulting in right-first time, high-quality investigations.
  • Supporting GMP/GDP/GSP compliance, Cold Chain Excellence and support Internal/External quality Audit.
  • Support the deployment and adherence to standards for deviation management and CAPA reports with LSP, LLP and 3PL Logistics partners and internal GDLJA teams.
  • Support new product launches as needed to ensure all GDLJA related launch activities are executed flawlessly in collaboration with others.
  • Author, review and maintain all sGOPs (Operating Procedures) and local SOPs pertaining to GDLJA. Ensure team members are trained in those procedures and track compliance to the same.
  • Plan budget (OPEX, CAPEX) and manage actual costs and variances.

DIMENSIONS AND ASPECTS

Technical/Functional (Line) Expertise (Breadth and depth of knowledge, application and complexity of technical knowledge)

  • Strong understanding of end-to-end Supply Chain processes & functions to ensure shipping solutions maintain temperature requirements throughout transport.
  • Demonstrated understanding of GxPs, Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), 21 CFR Part 11, end to end supply chain, as well as detailed knowledge in logistics (transportation, warehouse).
  • Very good understanding of GDP requirements, focus on cold chain. Expert in logistics, distribution processes and SBTI (Science Based Target Initiatives) sustainability domain – especially for the pharmaceutical industry. Knowledge of Supply Chain and Quality systems and solutions (SAP, Power BI, Trackwise, etc...)

  • Ability to lead global projects that impact logistics compliance and sustainability improvements
  • Ability to train and coach GDL team to ensure Investigations meet the requirements of Investigation Quality Standards.

EDUCATION, BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS: (List the essential and desirable education and competency requirements to perform the primary responsibilities of the job. Any minimum requirements should be noted.

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Engineering or Supply Chain Management.
  • Min 8 years of relevant experience in Distribution and Logistics management preferably within the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Extensive experience and knowledge with cold-chain distribution and shipping qualification requirements.
  • Strong supply chain and Quality systems knowledge; SAP, JDE, Ariba, Microsoft Office, Power BI, Trackwise, etc.
  • Very strong communication skills to manage stakeholders across levels & across countries
  • Good leadership, networking, and influencing skills
  • Good intercultural skills
  • Good business acumen & financial analytics skills
  • Structured, holistic and clear in problem solving
  • Strong ability to analyze a wide variety of supply chain data to make process improvement decisions
