Job Description

Position Title

Lead CarpenterDays - Full TimeLiberty Hospital

Career Interest:

Performs all construction work from layout to completion, including demolition work and clean up. May be called on to perform engineering maintenance work. Assist with planning and monitor progress of in-house construction projects. Directs the work and productivity of the team. Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions

  • Take down existing walls, ceilings, doors, and door frames; build walls per print with studs; hang and finish sheetrock; hang vinyl wall covering; install cove base built cabinets; build and install shelves
  • Install doors; stain, varnish, and hang doors; install suspended ceiling grid and tile
  • Read and understand blueprints and drawings
  • Apply applicable codes and standards
  • Assist with planning of in-house construction projects; performs daily assessment and ensures compliance to standards
  • Assists in coordinating in-house construction schedules, communication with architects, engineers, contractors, and local authorities
  • Works with hospital personnel (nursing, physicians, department directors, and tenants) in developing in-house construction projects
  • Assists in developing in-house construction estimates and bids from third party contractors, schedules, materials, and purchase orders
  • Directs the daily workflow and productivity of carpenters; assist with selection of new employees; orient, train, and assess competency of staff
  • Monitors team performance; identifies performance and quality gaps; provides feedback to leader as necessary.
  • Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.

Required Education and Experience

  • 5 or more years carpentry or construction experience.


Preferred Education and Experience

  • Technical training in all aspects of carpentry.
  • Team Lead experience.


Required Licensure and Certification

  • Valid driver's license.


Preferred Licensure and Certification

  • Valid Class E driver's license.
