Peer leader to Business Office Associates, responsible for processing and auditing paperwo rk associated wi th sales, leading self and others through daily business requirements, cash management, and provi ding e xce ptional c ustomer service.

What you will do:

  • Mentors Business Office Associates, assisti ng them wi th development and training
  • Assists store personnel and all store departments in their daily functions while adheri ng to Ca rMax guidelines
  • Participates in the rotation of the “Manager on Duty role – responsible for delegating and dire cting the business office wo rk flo w, answe ring questions related to transactions, handling customer issues/co ncer ns and follo wing up on del egated busine ss office work tasks
  • Delegates and follo ws up on v arious Bu siness Office tasks
  • Provi des cust omer service by listening, ans wering customer questions and expl aini ng paperwo rk process
  • Process es pap er work associat ed with retail automobile sales i ncluding printing daily reports, maintaining deal jackets, contacting finance companies regardi ng contracts, obtaining required information regarding registration and titling, and a uditing co mpleted paperwo rk
  • Process es pap er work associat ed with an appraisal l ane purch ase including title collec tion c alls and follow up, obtaining prop er paperwo rk and signatures from customers and sending appropriate documentation to Corporate for funding of drafts
  • Manages cash including receiving and counting money, distributing funds, preparing deposits and handling of the safe wi th considerations to security
  • Process es pap er work affiliated with the s tate DMV This in cludes submitting paperwo rk necessary to title and register a vehi cle for a customer after the sale
  • Cle ric al respon sib ilit ies in clu di ng cop ying, filing and ans wering phones
  • M ay assist in hi ring proce ss by attending j ob fairs and performing interviews in partnership wi th a manager

Qualifications:

Work requires ability to:

  • Create and maintain a posi tive work environment
  • Perform supervisory tasks (preferred experience: 3 years of customer facing work; 1 year of supervisory work)
  • Delegate effectively

  • Make decisions using independent and sound judgment
  • Res olve custo mer and associate issues
  • Read, interpret and transcribe da ta in order to maintain accurate records
  • Understa nd n umeric filing s ystem
  • Use wo rd processing, spreadsheet and other programs, displayi ng intermedi ate PC skills
  • Multi-task in a high energ y, fast-pace work environment, leading self and others through prioritization of changing daily business needs.
  • Lift objects that we igh as much as 15-20 lbs
  • Speak and listen effectively in dealing wi th internal and external customers in person and over the phone
  • Complete CarMax provided training on the functional areas of t he Business Office, allowi ng for cross-training and full coverage of Bu siness Offi ce
