Job Description

What’s the Role:

The Lead Business Analyst will lead the end‑to‑end business analysis for Westpac’s SRDE Migration Program, overseeing a team across multiple workstreams to deliver the migration of regulatory‑critical credit risk and reporting workloads from legacy SAS to a cloud platform, while ensuring data integrity, regulatory compliance and unchanged business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead end‑to‑end business analysis across the SRDE Migration Program, covering target state platform, business outcome migration, data migration and decommissioning.
  • Define and manage complex business, functional and non‑functional requirements, ensuring traceability through design, testing and deployment.
  • Oversee data mapping, lineage and reconciliation to ensure migrated outcomes align with legacy SAS 9.4 and meet regulatory requirements.
  • Partner closely with senior stakeholders, credit risk SMEs and technology teams, translating complex technical concepts into clear business outcomes.
  • Lead, mentor and govern a team of Business Analysts across multiple squads, ensuring consistent quality and delivery standards.
  • Support Agile delivery, testing, risk and regulatory compliance to ensure stable business outcomes throughout phased migration and implementation.

What do I need?

  • Strong background in Business Analysis within Financial Services, ideally across Credit Risk or Risk & Compliance domains.
  • Proven experience leading business analysis on large‑scale technology, data or platform migration programs with multiple workstreams.
  • Deep understanding of credit risk concepts including RWA, IFRS9/ECL and regulatory reporting obligations.
  • Experience working with banking regulatory frameworks and standards such as APS reporting and BCBS 239.
  • Strong technical capability across data migration, including legacy SAS environments, SQL, cloud platforms and data warehousing technologies.
  • Proficient in Agile delivery, BA tooling and methodologies, with experience using Jira, Confluence, testing tools and process modelling techniques.
