Under the direction of the Board-Certified Behavior Analyst, the Lead Behavior Technician is responsible for the direct implementation of skill-acquisition and behavior reduction plans developed by the BCBA along with providing any additional training for Behavior Technicians. The Lead Behavior Technicians may also collect data and collect certain types of assessments (e.g. stimulus preference assessments) under the supervision of a BCBA. The Lead Behavior Technician is not responsible for the designing of interventions, conducting in-depth assessments, or developing skills acquisition or behavior reduction plans. It is the responsibility of the designated BCBA to determine which tasks a Lead Behavior Technician may perform as a function of his/ or her training, experience, and competence. The designated BCBA is ultimately responsible for the work performed by the Lead Behavior Technician.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Follow and implement specific treatment areas (programs from FBA); provide one-on-one services with clients according to treatment plan; assist with socialization skills, adaptive skills, use of public transportation, community orientation, self-care, meal preparation, money management, vocational exploration and social/leisure exploration; Provide direct individual and group-based behavior therapy and social skills facilitation
- Knowledge of appropriate behavioral intervention strategies
- Identify barriers that may cause dependency and that provide roadblocks to attaining new skills and goals.
- Must attend monthly in-service meetings.
- Encourage active involvement and decision making to advance the client to a higher skill level of independent living.
- Data collection; monitor and evaluate student progress and behavior as it relates to behavioral systems; complete daily notes and provide parent signatures for session verification according to company guidelines
- Meet and regularly communicate with parents and BCBA on behavioral progress of clients; provide regular communication with BCBA, Executive Director and/or Clinical Director.
- Respond to inquiries and concerns which arise from parents, students, teachers and staff within 24 hours.
- Follow direction and instruction provided by assigned Executive Director, Behavior Analyst, Senior Clinical Director
- Provide direct overlaps (in-person/telehealth) to new/current BTs with clients for hands-on support and modeling fundamental skills and principles of ABA (modeling rapport building)
- Provide indirect support as directed by BCBA, as needed; administer skill-based assessments with client/caregiver; complete/assist with Progress Reports; analyze data collection; create materials for client treatment plan/session.
QualificationsKNOWLEDGE AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Correct English grammar, punctuation, and spelling
- Valid CPR and First Aid certification
- Valid class "C" Driver's License; Valid Auto Insurance
EDUCATION:
- Must possess a minimum of a BA/BS preferred in psychology, special education, or a related field
- A minimum of one-year experience in working with children, adolescents and/or adults with special needs.
