Lead Bartender – Pasque

We are seeking an experienced Lead Bartender who is passionate about delivering exceptional hospitality while supporting the daily success of Pasque's bar program. This role is responsible for preparing and serving beverages with precision, efficiency, and genuine hospitality while mentoring fellow bartenders, reinforcing service standards, and helping ensure smooth day-to-day operations.

The ideal candidate is knowledgeable about classic and contemporary cocktails, wine, beer, and spirits, thrives in a fast-paced setting, and enjoys coaching others while creating memorable guest experiences. As part of the Food & Beverage team, you will contribute to a collaborative culture while supporting our commitment to responsible operations and sustainability.

What You'll Do

Guest Experience

  • Deliver warm, engaging, and personalized service to every guest.
  • Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to established recipes and quality standards.
  • Make thoughtful recommendations based on guest preferences and menu pairings.
  • Anticipate guest needs and resolve concerns professionally and efficiently.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of beverage offerings, food menus, and daily features.
  • Lead by example in providing exceptional hospitality and service recovery.

Leadership

  • Serve as a daily resource for bartenders by providing guidance, coaching, and support throughout each shift.
  • Assist with onboarding and training new bartenders while reinforcing beverage preparation, service standards, and operational procedures.
  • Monitor beverage quality, presentation, and consistency throughout service.
  • Help ensure opening, closing, and side work responsibilities are completed accurately and on time.
  • Foster a positive, collaborative, and accountable team environment.
  • Communicate operational opportunities, guest feedback, and team needs to restaurant leadership.
  • Support restaurant leadership in maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient bar operation.

Bar Operations

  • Set up, stock, and maintain the bar to ensure smooth daily operations.
  • Prepare fresh juices, garnishes, syrups, and other bar ingredients while maintaining quality and freshness.
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate restocking needs.
  • Assist with inventory counts and help minimize waste through proper product rotation and portion control.
  • Ensure bar equipment is maintained and report maintenance concerns promptly.
  • Keep the bar, equipment, and work areas clean, organized, and compliant with health and sanitation standards.

Cash Handling & Compliance

  • Accurately enter orders into the point-of-sale system.
  • Process guest payments and balance cash, credit card, and house account transactions.
  • Complete end-of-shift closing procedures, including cash drops and securing bar inventory.
  • Verify guest age and serve alcohol responsibly in accordance with all local, state, and federal laws.
  • Maintain all required alcohol service certifications.
  • Support compliance with all beverage, safety, and sanitation standards.

Teamwork

  • Work collaboratively with servers, hosts, kitchen staff, and leadership to ensure seamless service.
  • Support fellow team members during busy periods and contribute to a positive team culture.
  • Participate in ongoing training and continuously develop beverage knowledge and leadership skills.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of bartending experience in an upscale restaurant, hotel, or high-volume bar.
  • Previous lead, trainer, or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of spirits, wine, beer, classic cocktails, and modern beverage trends.
  • Experience using POS systems and handling cash accurately.
  • Excellent communication, guest service, and coaching skills.
  • Ability to multitask while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
  • Professional appearance and positive attitude.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently.
  • Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Current alcohol service certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).

Physical Requirements

  • Stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Frequently lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
  • Reach, bend, stoop, and perform repetitive motions throughout the shift.
  • Safely handle glassware, bar tools, and equipment.
  • Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
