Job Title – Lead Automation Engineer

QA Automation Engineer to support Carrier’s largest and most strategic customers. In this role, you will design and implement automation solutions while also performing hands-on testing to ensure the quality, reliability, and resilience of our cloud products and platforms. You will work across front-end, API, and cloud services—combining automated and manual testing approaches—to validate scalable, production-grade systems and user interfaces.

Responsibilities:

Design, build, and maintain a custom QA automation stack for new and existing projects.

· Perform hands-on manual testing, including exploratory, regression, and release validation testing, where automation is not yet available or appropriate.

· Define and evangelize standards and best practices for manual, integration, UI, and performance testing.

· Collaborate with developers during feature design to ensure testability, acceptance criteria clarity, and early defect discovery.

· Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines and cloud execution environments.

Key Sills:

· 4+ years’ hands on experience in AWS cloud native environment with EC2, Automated Scaling Groups, Lambda, AWS Batch, CloudWatch, S3, RDS and CloudFormation.

· 3+ years of experience designing and building automation frameworks using Python or JavaScript, including CI/CD integration and cloud-hosted execution.

· 3+ experience with UI and integration test frameworks like Playwright or Slenenium.

· Proven experience with manual testing techniques, including exploratory testing, test case design, regression testing, and defect triage using agile tools like Jira and Xray.

· 2+ experience with performance and load testing tools like Locust.

· 1+ year of hands-on experience leveraging AI-assisted development or testing tools (e.g., Claude, OpenAI, Copilot).

  • Demonstrate sustained initiative, proven ability to work independently and take on complex tasks with minimal direction

  • Solid creativity and innovation Ability to understand issues, debugging issues and take appropriate action

  • Strong English communication skills - oral and written.

  • Ability to adapt quickly to an existing, complex environment.

  • Ability to quickly learn new concepts and software is necessary.
