Lead Auditor

We are looking for a seasoned auditor ready to act as a subject-matter expert in a lead role where you’ll set office audit standards, tackle complex Medicaid performance reviews, and guide peers through high-impact risk evaluations. Salary – $32.39 - $56.06 Hourly Wage

Key Responsibilities

The lead auditor provides guidance, training, and subject-matter expertise to other auditors in the office.

Responsibilities of this position include:

  • Helping establish office audit standards,
  • Planning and conducting complex compliance and performance audits,
  • Recommending improvements in the Medicaid program, and
  • Evaluating follow-up actions.
  • Train new staff on office audit standards and processes.

The role requires minimal supervision in carrying out these duties.

The role does not directly supervise other staff.

The role requires occasional travel to Medicaid provider locations for onsite visits.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ability to review Medicaid policies and procedures and be able to apply them to specific situations
  • Ability to review audit standards and create office policies and procedures that align with these standards
  • Ability to create an audit plan, conduct required audit steps, and create a written report recommending necessary changes
  • Ability to recognize and apply elements of an audit finding (Criteria, condition, cause, effect, and recommendation)
  • Ability to identify risks within programs and propose audit activities that would further explore those risks prioritizing work high impact risks.
  • Ability to follow office standards for documenting audit findings and reporting on them.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to use data analysis software to generate background information for audits and to select appropriate samples for additional review
  • Familiarity with capitation process and experiencing reviewing actuarial analysis
