Lead Appian Developer (Remote with Travel)

Company: Oneida Technical Solutions
Location: Remote (with periodic travel to St. Petersburg & Miami, FL)
Salary Range: $130,000 - $145,000 (commensurate with experience)
Clearance: Public Trust (or ability to obtain; U.S. Citizenship required)
Employment Type: Full-Time (1-year base + 4 option years anticipated)

Oneida Technical Solutions is seeking a Lead Appian Developer. This individual will serve in a key personnel role, leading Appian development, support, and enhancement efforts for mission-critical systems.

This role requires a strong technical leader with deep Appian expertise, experience managing production environments, and the ability to drive Agile development initiatives in a federal setting.

Key Responsibilities

Application Support & Operations (O&M)

  • Provide end-to-end user and application support for production systems, including helpdesk triage, troubleshooting, and issue resolution
  • Maintain system availability and performance by resolving incidents, bugs, and data anomalies in a timely manner
  • Implement and manage IT Service Management (ITSM) processes using JIRA to track and resolve support requests
  • Ensure support activities integrate seamlessly with Agile development workflows

Appian Development & Lifecycle Management

  • Design, develop, and maintain Appian applications, including Process Models, Records, and SAIL Interfaces
  • Manage Appian object lifecycle and integrations using Appian Data Fabric
  • Automate complex business processes and deliver user-friendly, device-agnostic solutions
  • Lead development of new features and enhancements aligned with evolving regulatory and mission needs

Agile Delivery & Enhancements

  • Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and Agile ceremonies
  • Deliver iterative enhancements and new capabilities to support system modernization
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions

Platform Sustainment & Compliance

  • Perform platform maintenance including upgrades, patches, and hotfixes
  • Ensure compliance with Section 508 accessibility standards and cybersecurity requirements
  • Support continuous improvement of system performance and reliability

Required Qualifications

  • 5-8+ years of professional experience in software development (minimum 5 years required)
  • Proven experience with Appian development and platform administration
  • Prior experience in a lead or senior technical role
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and DevOps practices
  • Experience supporting production systems and handling incident management
  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting federal government clients or proposals
  • Familiarity with NOAA, NMFS, or similar regulatory environments
  • Experience integrating Appian with external systems and APIs
  • Prior experience with JIRA in an ITSM or Agile environment

Additional Requirements

  • Willingness to travel occasionally to St. Petersburg and Miami, FL for project meetings
