MPA provides after-sales service parts support for Hyundai Motors, Kia Motors, and Genesis. JOB PURPOSE The Analyst IV, Strategic Planning is responsible for driving purchases for the Normal Planning department totaling approximately $40M per month. Through careful analysis, planning and execution, the team leader ensures MPA KPI's are achieved. This requires strong analytical skills, a sound understanding of forecast disaggregation across 9 PDCs, and proper PO inventory control and supply management of MPA parts to support Hyundai, Genesis and Kia dealerships. The team lead will be responsible for maintaining, updating and revising purchase order strategies to best align with MPA KPI's. Additionally, the team lead with support from the manager builds, establishes and drives the team to ensure that MPA achieves inventory health, months of supply and fill rates targets. The team lead initiates thorough reviews of claims and exporting processes to ensure the team is aligned with corporate objectives, suggest improvements for continued efficiency, and ensure team is cross trained appropriately. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES •Responsible for the strategic development and tactical execution of the MPA procurement plan – 60% -Manage the purchase spend of approximately $40M in orders for Normal Supply in order to achieve corporate objectives -Maintain inventory at optimal levels in order to maximize organizational effectiveness in supply replenishment -Work cross functionally with forecasting analyst to ensure procurement plans are optimized. Quantifiable demand calculation, desired inventory levels, lead time, and supplier performance are all inputs necessary for this process -Monitor supplier order confirmation files to ensure all orders have been received and processed in a timely manner -Work with supplier staff to resolve any issues •Maintain, develop and implement processes (or systems) improvements in order to meet the system fill rate, facing fill rate, inventory months of supply, and COGS objectives - 15% •Report purchasing results to MPA Executive Management on a monthly basis – 10% •Negotiate with Affiliate Company on inventory sales opportunities that will drive excess and obsolete material from MPA ledger - 10% •Lead the team in developing, analyzing, and maintaining the strategic, demand, and procurement plan using sales and supplier metrics in support of strategic business objectives – 10% -Coach, train, and develop staff in order to: -Support claims processing, export sales orders, and brand collateral material -Faster problem resolution to facilitate improvements in an effort to achieve corporate KPIs •Develop, review, document, and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs). Collaborate with Supply Team leadership on auditing adherence to SOP’s - 5% • Manage parts supply inventory levels through order placement to support sales to dealers and minimize cost of premium freight to meet corporate fill rate and MOS objectives. •Provide analysts with order recommendations for parts with demand outliers ensuring unnecessary orders are minimized. •Provide analysts with repackage recommendations to ensure inventory levels optimized. • Create/Run queries in Data Warehouse (DW) based on requirements specified by management. • Periodically check Data Warehouse for data integrity, and work with systems to correct any issues. • Monitor orders and work closely with Supply department to avoid any unnecessary orders. Recommend changes for order management as required to support customer needs and MPA purchase targets. • Study current forecasting and inventory management processes, and implement any necessary changes to improve accuracy and efficiency, with the goal of common, integrated processes to support OEs. • Coordinate with OEs and Systems department to address any system problems effecting the planning and expediting of parts. • Communicate with Management of MPA and OEs issues and resolutions to provide better customer service through process improvement. • Review and recommend changes to the Part Master to ensure that correct supply levels, supersession codes, and part control codes are maintained and accurate. • Review affiliate excess sales lists and make purchase recommendations based on forecasted demand. Provide affiliates with MPA excess inventory to decrease obsolete inventory across the network.
