About the business/role/team


The role sits within the Reserve Bank of Australia’s Risk and Compliance Department. You will be part of the Risk Frameworks and Strategy team within the Risk and Compliance Department - a small, high impact team, partnering closely with first line business areas, compliance, internal audit and senior stakeholders across the Bank to drive consistent and effective risk practices.

About the role

  • Support the design, review, implementation and continuous improvement of the Bank’s non-financial risk management framework, standards, templates and tools

  • Partner with business areas to support implementation and uplift of risk and compliance frameworks

  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of frameworks, policies, standards and guidances for enterprise risk management

  • Prepare insights for senior stakeholders and governance committees

  • Influence and uplift risk capability and consistency across the Bank

About you

  • 7+ years of experience in non-financial risk, operational risk or compliance within a complex environment

  • Strong experience in designing, implementing or uplifting risk and compliance management frameworks

  • Demonstrated experience reviewing and drafting controls

  • Experience operating in a second line of defence role

  • Strong understanding of regulatory expectations and better practice in risk management

  • Strong understanding of enterprise-wide risk and compliance management frameworks, policies and standards

  • Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, concise and insightful analysis for senior audiences

  • Proven ability to influence stakeholders and drive adoption of frameworks, standards and tools

  • A team player with a curious mindset, sound judgement, attention to detail, and the ability to balance pragmatism with risk discipline
