About the role

We are looking for a Lead AI Software Engineer to drive the design, development, and deployment of production-grade AI systems. You will lead a team of AI engineers and full-stack developers while staying hands-on with coding and system design at least 50% of the time

You will play a pivotal role in shaping our technical architecture, mentoring your team, and ensuring our AI systems deliver maximum impact for users worldwide.

What You’ll Do

• Build and maintain production-ready AI systems integrating LLMs and custom models.

• Design robust components for prompt management, post-processing, and RAG pipelines

• Ensure system reliability and observability via testing, CI/CD, monitoring, and clean architecture

• Collaborate closely with product teams and end-users to align technical solutions with product vision.

• Lead and mentor a team, foster a collaborative culture, and drive high-quality delivery.

• Continuously optimize the value delivered to end-users, both individually and as a team.

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

• 4+ years of experience in software engineering, preferably in startups

• Strong academic background (e.g. top engineering school or PhD)

• Hands-on experience in Python and backend development, experience in software architecture.

• Experience building or maintaining AI / LLM-based systems

• Familiarity with LLM SDKs and libraries (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google GenAI, LiteLLM, Langchain).

• Proven ability to design production-grade AI components with reliability and observability.

• Strong leadership and collaboration skills: able to mentor, inspire and motivate teams.

• Fluent in French and English

Nice-to-have:

• Knowledge of search systems or RAG pipelines.

• Experience in Machine Learning / Deep Learning (NLP or Computer Vision).

• Familiarity with AI coding tools (Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Codex).

• Interest or background in Intellectual Property
