Job Description

& Summary

We’re looking for a client-facing Lead AI Engineer to cocreate and deliver AI/GenAI solutions that help banks and insurers prevent financial crime at scale—across KYC/CDD, sanctions screening, transaction monitoring, fraud, and investigations. You will be the technical face of our delivery: shaping the solution with senior stakeholders, leading squads of engineers and analysts, and ensuring what we build is reliable, auditable, secure, and regulator ready. You’ll turn complex business problems into production-grade AI systems and measurable outcomes (quality, speed, cost), in close partnership with our financial crime SMEs.

About your manager

Liviu Chirita is Partner responsible for PwC CEE Financial Crime Advisory. Originally with a background in financial services risk management, he has led an expansion of the current team into wider Risk & Regulatory topics including digital and technology related support to PwC clients. The existing multi-national team is predominantly Prague based.

& summary

Key Responsibilities

Client leadership & solution shaping

  • Lead client discovery, architecture workshops, and executive readouts; translate regulatory and operational pain points into actionable AI solution designs and roadmaps (incl. delivery plan, risks, controls, KPIs).

  • Partner with risk/compliance, operations, and IT to define acceptance criteria, nonfunctional requirements (SLA, auditability), and handover operations; act as day-to-day senior technical contact.

  • Support presales (RFPs/PoCs), scope for technical estimates, and create proposal content with clear value hypotheses and evaluation plans.

Technical architecture & hands-on engineering

  • Own end-to-end architecture for LLM/GenAI solutions (RAG pipelines, agentic workflows, tool/function calling, memory, evaluation harnesses, observability). Build reusable components/APIs and reference patterns.

  • Lead Python development (e.g., services with FastAPI) and implement orchestration using LangChain / LangGraph / Autogen / CrewAI with strong software engineering practices (tests, CI/CD, containers).

  • Integrate embeddings and vector databases; implement retrieval quality controls, prompt strategies, and offline/online evaluation to prevent regressions.

LLMOps / MLOps & cloud

  • Stand up cloud-native environments (Azure preferred; AWS/GCP welcome) with registries, feature/vector stores, deployment automation, monitoring, and cost/performance governance.

  • Implement runtime observability (latency, cost, safety events, drift)

Responsible AI, security & compliance

  • Embed Responsible AI controls (safety filters, red-teaming, bias checks where appropriate), robust access controls (IAM/RBAC/secrets), data minimization, and privacy-by-design

  • Align designs to financial services control environments and audit needs across AML/sanctions/fraud domains.

Requirements of the role

  • 5+ years in software/AI engineering, with 2–3+ years delivering LLMenabled applications in production (prompting, function/tool calls, structured outputs, eval). Strong Python / TypeScript and API/service development.

  • Deep hands on with RAG architectures (embeddings, retrieval, evaluation) and vector databases (e.g., pgvector/FAISS/Weaviate/Milvus).

  • Experience with AI/LLM orchestration frameworks (LangChain, LangGraph, Autogen, CrewAI) and agentic design patterns.

  • Cloud native engineering (preferably Azure) incl. CI/CD, Docker/Kubernetes, logging/monitoring, and secure configuration (IAM, RBAC, secrets, network isolation).

  • Demonstrated client leadership: structuring ambiguous problems, facilitating workshops, and communicating clearly with senior business and technology stakeholders.

  • Excellent English (spoken/written). Czech is a plus for onsite workshops in Prague.

Nice to have:

  • Domain exposure to AML, sanctions, KYC, fraud and understanding of operational/regulatory realities in financial institutions.

  • Databricks ecosystem (Lakehouse, Unity Catalog, Delta, MLflow) and Mosaic AI Framework for LLM app development.

  • Data engineering at scale (event driven/microservices, streaming), and secure integrations with case management, screening and core banking platforms.

Our Benefits and Fun

  • You'll join an emerging practice at the intersection of AI innovation and financial crime prevention — a space where technology decisions have real operational and regulatory impact. You'll work with leading financial institutions on challenges that require both analytical rigor and practical business judgment.

  • Concentrated experience and rapid career growth. It may sound like a platitude, but it really is.

  • Fair wages plus paid overtime.

  • Paid time off 30 days, 3 Wellbeing days and 2 extra days off from the company at the end of the year.

  • High-end Ultrabook and iPhone with unlimited data.

  • Benefit program with 55.000 points that you can use for holidays, education, food vouchers, sports (Multisport), health... Simply on what you enjoy.

  • Supporting your development and education: business and digital skills training (e.g. Alteryx, Power BI, Tableau), ongoing training and certifications, e.g. Microsoft (Azure, PowerApps), project management (Prince2, PMI), service management (ITIL), agile development (Scrum, SAFe), DAMA, Salesforce, coaching and presentation skills and more.

  • Extra-work activities and Away Days (team building, ski weekend, etc.).

  • Regular feedback on your work, also consultation with a coach with whom you can address your further development and career direction.

We are part of an international network of companies with more than 364,000 colleagues in 151 countries.
