Job Description

1. Role Overview

The Lead – Affluent BIU & Analytics is responsible for driving data‑led decision‑making for the Affluent Banking portfolio. The role involves enabling business growth, improving portfolio quality, identifying revenue opportunities, and strengthening customer engagement through advanced analytics, insights, dashboards, and predictive models.

This role will work closely with Product, Channel, Marketing, Risk, Compliance, and Technology teams to build a robust analytical ecosystem for the Affluent segment.


2. Key Responsibilities

A. Business Analytics & Insights

  • Develop deep analytics to drive actionable insights on customer acquisition, portfolio growth, product penetration, and profitability.
  • Perform structured root‑cause analysis for business performance dips or anomalies.
  • Publish weekly/monthly business MIS, performance scorecards, dashboards, and business narratives for leadership review.
  • Evaluate customer lifecycle behavior to identify cross‑sell, upsell, and retention opportunities.

B. Portfolio Management

  • Track and drive key portfolio metrics such as balances, product holdings, NR metrics, liabilities & investments mix, RM productivity, CASA engagement, and attrition.
  • Build frameworks for early‑warning signals across balances, dormancy, churn, and risk indicators.
  • Analyse and recommend interventions for portfolio deepening and customer stickiness.

C. Advanced Analytics & Modelling

  • Design and implement predictive models (e.g., attrition models, lead‑scoring models, propensity models).
  • Use segmentation and clustering techniques to identify micro‑segments and customer cohorts.
  • Evaluate campaign effectiveness through A/B testing, control groups, and uplift modelling.

D. Business Partnering & Strategy Support

  • Collaborate with Affluent Product, Marketing, CVM, Branch Banking, NR, Investments, and Digital teams to co‑create strategic initiatives.
  • Present insights and recommendations to senior stakeholders for business planning and strategy formulation.
  • Provide analytical support for new product launches, channel initiatives, and digital journeys.

E. Data Infrastructure & Governance

  • Work with Data Engineering and Tech teams to enhance data pipelines, system integration, and reporting structures.
  • Ensure data accuracy, compliance, audit readiness, and governance across all BIU outputs.
  • Drive automation of recurring dashboards, MIS, and processes to improve productivity.

3. Skills & Competencies

Technical Skills

  • Strong expertise in SQL, Python/R, Power BI/Tableau, and advanced Excel.
  • Experience working on data warehousing, data marts, and large relational databases.
  • Familiarity with statistical modelling, machine learning techniques, and segmentation.

Business & Functional Skills

  • Deep understanding of retail/affluent banking products—CASA, Investments, Insurance, Cards, NR, Digital Banking.
  • Strong ability to translate business questions into analytical frameworks.
  • Exposure to P&L drivers, profitability models, and portfolio management.

Behavioral Competencies

  • High analytical and problem‑solving capability.
  • Strong stakeholder management with ability to influence cross‑functional teams.
  • Excellent communication and story‑telling skills using data.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment with tight deadlines.

4. Experience & Qualifications

  • Education: MBA/PGDM, Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Data Science, or related field.
  • Experience: 6–12 years in business analytics/BIU roles, preferably in banking, fintech, or financial services.
  • Proven track record of delivering insights and driving measurable business impact.
