Job Description

As a Lead, AEO reporting to the Director, Content Strategy and Editorial Optimization, you will lead holistic search strategies, elevating traditional content effectiveness with Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) to maximize visibility in Google AI Overviews, LLMs (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude), and voice search. The Lead, AEO will be the expert and thought leader for best practices and education in AEO across Nasdaq, leading day-to-day AEO operations including monitoring, reporting of technical compliance, keyword/content strategies, and feedback to divisional content owners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategy & Implementation: Develop and execute comprehensiveAEO strategies,optimizing forAI-driven search environments and zero-click search experiences.

  • AEO Centric Storytelling:Adeep understanding of how AI engines and large language models consume, synthesize, and cite content, enabling brand visibility and authority.

  • Technical & ContentAEO: Conduct advanced technical audits, implement schema/structured data, andoptimizecontent for Featured Snippets, conversational queries, and Entity authority.

  • AEO & AI Focus:OptimizeNasdaq.com contentfor Large Language Models (LLMs) and Generative Search (e.g., Google AI Overviews, Perplexity, Claude);Identifyand execute test projects to better leverage AEO to improve Nasdaq's visibility and capture of value among audiences.

  • Analytics & Reporting:UtilizeGoogle Search Console, GA4, and LLM tools tomonitorperformance and create dashboards to measure ROI; Setting KPIs for zero-click impressions, AI citation rates, and organic conversions, and building reporting dashboards to track progress

  • Collaboration & Leadership: Partner with content, UX, and development teams to implement,monitor, and iterate on search strategies.

  • Best Practices and Governance:Coach stakeholders on how to best position our products and messaging to maximize ourAEOvisibility and engagement with target audiences.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience: 8- 10+ years ofdigital marketing or technical experience, withdemonstratedknowledge in AI-driven searchtrendsand contentoptimization.

  • Strong technical familiarity with websites and how content isproduced,publishedand distributed.

  • Strong communicator,persuasivein theirability tocommunicate complex, evolving technical AI/search concepts to non-technical stakeholders

  • AI/LLM Knowledge: Deep understanding of how LLMs and generative search engines process information.

  • Analytical Skills:Proficiencyin Google Analytics 4 and Google Search Console

  • AgenticTooling Experience: Expert experience withagenticplatformslikeChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, and technical tools likeSEMrush, Lumar,orAhrefs

This position willbe located inNew York City or Atlanta, GA,and offers the opportunity for a hybrid work environment at least 3 days a week in-office, subject to change, providing flexibility and accessibility for qualified candidates.

The base pay range for this role is $112,000 - $207,000. In addition to base salary, Nasdaq provides a generous annual bonus/commission (short-term incentive), and equity (long-term incentive), comprehensive benefits, and opportunity for growth. Exact compensation may vary based on several job-related factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to: skill set, experience, education/training, business needs and market demands.
